Following an impressive year for Brazillian CAMZ, with her debut release ‘Saudade feat. Mestre Barrao’ gaining support from industry heavyweights such as Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber and BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar, she now turns up the heat with the fiery three track ‘Respeita As Mina (Respect The Girls)’ landing on Hottrax this June. 

“Respeita As Mina is actually a diss track, and I took inspiration from the Baile Funk female MCs who often sing/write about their personal relationship experiences in their music with a touch of acid humor. The whole EP is extremely personal and reflects not only my Brazilian roots with Carnival, Samba, and Brazilian Funk rhythms and instruments, but my life as a whole, and what I am all about.” - CAMZ 

Taking inspiration from her Brazillian heritage ‘Respeita As Mina (Respect The Girls)’ delivers a drum-driven groove with alluring vocal cuts and a charged-up rhythm for an explosive, carnival-ready sound. Followed by ‘Fight Zone’ bringing rattling drum hits over a low-end rumbling funk, before ‘Bem-Te-Vi’ lays down a warm summer vibe with tribal vocal calls and energetic bongos, rounding off a trio of dance-floor heaters for Hottrax.

If there ever would be a secret password to sneak into Reecords parties, that would be funk. Following their gigantic release earlier last year, the ADEZ boys team up with the boss, Reelow, for their first-ever collaborative effort. The result is this incredibly well-crafted EP called Funk The Pump, and as the name suggests - it's pretty much what everyone was expecting. Four tracks for four bouncy, skippy and driving originals that bring together rubbery basslines, epic vocals, chunky grooves, and a lot of fun on the dancefloor. Let there be... funk!

Premiere: Reelow, ADEZ - My Drama Queen [Reecords]

A sunday afternoon groovy jam with a house influence, a conga groove and an organ.

I started my groove with my Polyend Play+ providing a solid modern kick and a clap. I added a low tom and high hats on the RD-9. The low tom is doing an upbeat pulsing bassline. Then I thought this is the ideal situation to bring out the RD-78 for the conga sound and I also added a clave (cheeky extra). 

At this point I was really grooving. Adding the organ from the Roland J-6 and a bassline from the Roland SE-02. I mixed it live with a delay and some reverb. I have not changed the audio at all apart from putting it through my normal master chain to get it really pumping. I used the high pass filter on the RD-9 to shape the tom and you can hear me doing that in the track.
