The Jane Campion Film "The PIANO"  got  its  soundtrack  by  the  minimal music  composer  Michael Nyman, who created an exceptional soundtrack to the  very  spheric  and  dense  movie.
The  major cast  was  Holly Hunter  and  Harvey  Keitel besides  Sam Neill.
Bastian Lee Jones   chose the piece "The Heart Asks Pleasure First", which is his 14th recording of 2015.

The second piece in set 42 of my Songs without Words is something of an epic, I feel. A lengthy opening section is full of pathos and tenderness. This eventually gives way to something that is prettier and has more sense of momentum. When the opening idea returns, it soon becomes something far more impassioned and powerful, conveyed through an intense pianistic dressing. As the slow and light ending arrives, I hope you will feel that something has been said in that way that only music can articulate (which is why I opt for songs without words...)
