3 days prior to my 16th birthday, I looked up at the sky to see if I could get a squint at the Big Dipper and recognize the shape that I had seen so many times on memes and in textbooks. As I searched the vast cylinder of the cosmos I saw shooting star after shooting star; with every swift turn of my head I spotted an airplane followed by an almost imaginary streak of light lasting about a quarter of a blink of an eye. I ended up finding the Big Dipper fairly easily and entered a trance when I realized that those stars were super massive stars. My perception then dramatically switched to a state where I could zoom in on these far away stars with a diamond like laser vision. I then spotted the little dipper and could see the lines of light between each star - they looked like straight red lasers with a bluish glow on the outside. I gazed a little longer until the wind picked up and I looked at a pine tree about 75 yards away from me at about 10% elevation. Past the tree I could see more stars and galaxies at a new perspective with more light from the moon shining from the background. A profound enlightenment followed. I could sense the cosmos as an object, an entity that is so far ahead of myself as an entity on the cosmic scale. My ultimate realization approached when I understood that there is no truth or meaning behind the existence of life or the human race on planet Earth... but maybe there is something else out there.
