Nile Rodgers has played on over 2 Billion dollars worth of music! Yet, has he played one screaming guitar solo? Nope!
Rhythm guitar is a huge part of my 'game' too. Forget those solos, 90% of the time a guitarist is a team player, holding the track together rhythmically as an essential part of the rhythm section and also providing chords for the melody to sit on.
Nile's rhythm guitar sound has stood the test of time. Over the decades he's played written and produced for Chic, Diana Ross, Bowie, Madonna and still is relevant today with Daft Punk!
This track is the ultimate Nile Rodgers chop. But don't forget the killer bass line by Bernard Edwards. BTW the guitar part was written first!
I've updated the beat to something more modern, put on my flares, and gotten down!

About this track...
Stevie wrote this track lyrically about reincarnation after a near fatal accident left him in a coma. Fortunately he survived and released the track on his seminal 1973 album 'Innervisions'

Stratus, the 1973 debut album by drummer Billy Cobham marked a seminal moment in jazz fusion and still sounds fresh today. It caught everyone by surprise, including Bill who, on hearing it was heading up the charts said "Damn, I gotta get a band together". Players on the original include Tommy Bolin on guitar and Jan Hammer on Keys. This version is the original backing track plus me on guitar and keys. I saw Bill on his 70th birthday tour, still going strong and still playing this track.

This track is from One on One a smooth jazz, crossover jazz studio album by Bob James and Earl Klugh. This album earned the two artists the Grammy award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1981.
