His new album, The Gambler, is more than eight tracks in the dub techno genre—it is a musical reinterpretation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel The Gambler. Every sound, every vibration feels like a roll of the dice, leading the listener into deep, almost mystical labyrinths of the human psyche.

It begins with “Alexei Ivanovich”—an introspection of a hero teetering between passion and madness. “Polina Alexandrovna” shrouds you in melancholy and mystery, as if the music tells its own secret intrigues. “General” resonates with authority and order, while “Madame de Cominges” gently draws you into an elegant game of seduction and manipulation. “Marquis de Grieux” is a rhythmic elegy of desire, “Mr Astley” hints at hidden motives and perilous games, “Mlle Blanche” transports you into a light, almost ethereal illusion, and “Potapych” concludes the album, leaving a lingering sense of contemplative longing and the inevitability of fate.

Each composition by Francesco Tamburrano is crafted with the precision of an alchemist: deep motifs intertwine with spatial effects, creating the sensation that the sound breathes alongside you. This album is an experiment at the boundaries of time, space, and emotion.

What makes it truly special is that The Gambler is released on the Russian label [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB]. For us, this is an event akin to winning the most daring gamble: a cultural and musical exchange between Italy and Russia, between past and future. This EP was conceived as an ode to diversity and travel. The journey begins in the meanders of the past with "Jadis", a track that poetically embodies the nostalgia and carefreeness spirit of youth. The adventure then continues in the heart of the Amerindian jungle and its supernatural phenomena in a bewitching piece with tribal accents, "Ayahuasca". The EP also gives pride of place to the modern world and its technological din through "Kernel Panic", a dark and dystopian track. Of course, the duo doesn't forget its classical inspirations with "Decadence", a piece of music conceived as a real tribute to orchestral music. In the same vein, the EP ends on "Ostinato", a concentrate of rhythm, energy and harmony.
