This project was very unique for us to work on because he took the acoustic signatures and sounds from thousands of GE machines and worked with their Acoustics Engineer to create an entire original musical composition. We then put our own Benoit & Sergio spin on the track.

My new album is called “you cannot enter the disco”. Produced and recorded early/mid 2017, It is an electronic/dance album that seems at first view very “pop”. But as I do in my art, my approach is very existentialistic, so this work is more complex than its form seems to be :-) "You cannot enter the disco" is an album about the feeling of “not fitting” in the world. It is also an invitation to not try to fit but instead to turn towards community of people that are like you. The album tells a non linear story of a form of “enlightment”. From an opening song called “down the road”, which is about a place where a so called lower part of society goes to sadly dance together, until the last title “give me the eyes” which is about deep  “understanding” of what is beneath the real concept of “being”. In between those 2 titles there is a whole journey.

Mother of Mars​ is the latest musical outlet of New Yorkers ​Vito Roccoforte & Gabriel Andruzzi.​ Having cut their teeth as the rhythm section of​ The Rapture​, who were at the forefront of the late nineties post-punk revival scene, they took to channeling their mutual love of disco, house and techno, the bandmates took to DJing together as ​Vito & Druzz​i. Having honed their skills and joint workflow, the Mother of Mars project sees them shift focus from club orientated productions towards Avant-Garde, New Age and Experimental influences.

2018 saw their first exploration as Mother of Mars releasing their ​Seed 2 Sky​ 12” on Ransom Note Records. These synth-laden tracks, both 10 minutes in length, were lovingly crafted from their shared Brooklyn-based studio and cast a midpoint between each’s wide reaching influences. This time around, they come armed with the angelic vocals of Japanese expat ​Jaiko Suzuki​ and a variety of percussion from across the globe.
Space Without A Shadow​ is the first outing from this new body of work and is in many ways considered by the pair to be the missing track from their ​Seed 2 Sky ​release. Although both refreshing and exciting, the track unfolds in an almost familiar way. The result is a beautifully-strange fusion of genre and culture alike. Over a beating kick and layers of driving percussion, repetitive synth riffs swirl in and out of focus clearing the way for Jaiko’s multi-tracked airy vocals, subtly playing off of one another in the foreground.

“Space Without a Shadow had its genesis shortly after the writing of the first Mother of Mars release, Hera in the Valley, which came out on Ransom Note Records the 19th of January 2018. This release also marks the wonderful and talented Jaiko Suzuki joining the Mother of Mars universe. Space Without a Shadow was always intended to be the next record after Hera in the Valley and now 2+ years later or a mere fraction of a second in cosmic time, which Mother of Mars prefers to work in, we give you Space Without a Shadow.
In the song—Vito, Jaiko and Gabriel all seemed to be moving through convergent musical and lyrical lines (or possibly cycles or spirals) that passed through a space of negating the popular modern idea of the individualized objectified self. Not an annihilation of self, but the dissolving of a particular and common conception of self. As part of this process we possibly make space for something else altogether or maybe we even get rid of a sense of delimited space all together. And perhaps this comes across to the listener, and they get to share in this experience.”

On remix duties is long time friend ​Willie Burns​ who weirds up the dancefloor, still being respectful to the original and Glasgow’s rising star Mr TC who progs the whole thing up utilising the bassline to reinvented effect.

The track was mixed by previous collaborator ​Ewan Pearson​ - who remixed and produced for The Rapture -​ ​and Mastered by ​Sarah Register​ who has worked with the likes of Lee Scratch Perry, Ariana Grande, Amon Tobin and Depeche Mode.
