Next on Black Seven Music, Barcelona based Mushroom Smile Records label boss Gianni Firmaio makes his Black Seven debut with a two-track EP - including a remix from label regular Cosmin Horatiu.

With releases on Elrow Music,Viva Limited, RIM, 303Lovers, Deeperfect, Lapsus, Be One, Roush and more, Mushroom Smile Records frontman Gianni Firmaio is a commendable and established name within the world of Tech House. His latest work comes in the form of two hot and ready originals, coupled under the tiles of his new EP - Like A Fool. Joining Gianni (following his ‘Yeyo’ EP earlier this year), Cosmin Horatiu delivers an impressive remix to the a-side title track.

Opening the release, ‘Like A Fool’ is a sturdy concoction of heavy elements and groove-forming components. Thudding kicks meet hollowed-out rhythmic sub-bass with a catchy melody, whilst percussive factors ripple in and out of each other to create a rolling cadence. Offbeat fills and sharp synth stabs add the final flavours to this impressively potent terrace number.

Cosmin Hoaratiu follows with his remix of the title track, taking it underground and stripping it right back. Huge bassline roars underneath pulsing synths and the sizzle of rhythm between its drum work, whilst eerie pads and a warped soulful vocal add character.

Firmaio finishes with ‘We Love This Music’. Disco-inspired and fast-paced tech-house with blistering energy, it’s an upbeat roller with more heavyweight elements stacked up to the brim. Electrifying drops and rumbling low-frequencies ebb and flow from end to end of this peak time heater.
