Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Acclaimed DJ, producer and label boss Riva Starr is excited to announce the first release from his brand-new imprint, Brock Wild, entitled ‘The Wickedest Sound’ EP. 
 
Riva Starr has always been respected by fans and fellow tastemakers for his ambitiousness and creativity in his productions. Just look at his back catalogue, ranging from Hip-Hop tinted tracks with UK titan Roots Manuva to regular collaborations with House legend Green Velvet, and you’ll see experimentation sits at the core of Riva and his other aliases.
 
Now, the Italian-Born London-based DJ/producer has founded Brock Wild, an imprint that specifically provides a platform to share left-field/bass heavy sounds, Riva explains: 

​​'I’ve always been fond of left-field beats and big bass, therefore due to my eclectic taste and past background as a Hip Hop, Dub, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat DJ I've now decided to launch a new SNATCH! sub-label called BROCK WILD that'll be devoted to these type of sounds.'  

The EP’s title-named track, ‘The Wickedest Sound’, kicks things off, serving up a free flowing, groove-laden cut that seamlessly blends elements of House, Hip-Hop and Breakbeat, encompassing; an abundance of lo-fi Rasta-esque vocal samples, ferocious synth blasts and an excellent use of dub-style effects.

After his hugely successful HUB EP and a string of killer releases on his own BLK DRP imprint, Second State mainstay Michael Klein returns with what may be his best work to date with his ‘Peters Hand’ EP.
Klein delivers three absolute burners that somehow embrace the purely functional floor filler prerequisites to ensure maximum range of playability yet he maintains an incredible amount of character and uniqueness setting them apart from anything else. Add to that a rework from the master Heiko Laux, and ‘Peters Hand’ is an absolute monster of an EP. Both ‘Peters Hand’ and 'Broken Keys’ span the A-Side and are a testimonial to the one of a kind approach Klein has to building grooves that are intense and gripping. Flip to the B-Side and Heiko Laux’s remix of ‘Broken Keys’ is a tour-de-force, wall of sound full of tension and euphoria. To round it out ‘Daniels Dream’ sees him finish the EP showing a fairly playful side balanced delicately over an unrelenting and one of a kind Michael Klein groove resulting in a stunning return to the label.
