Toolroom Records is proud to present the first in a series of EPs entitled 'Weiss City Vol 1' by one of our hot tips for 2013, Weiss.

'Weiss City Vol 1' showcases this producers vast talent by embracing house music's rich heritage with deep jacking grooves, warm rumbling subs, sweet sharp percussion and delicate vocal treatment. Leading the EP. 'You Treat Me Right' sets the tone with an infectious guitar lick and impassioned vocals on top of a driving but deep bass line. 'Do The Do' is straight up organ house, with an unforgettable melody, vocal cut and sharp percussion. Next up, Weiss delivers the funk with 'My Sister'; one of those tracks you'll have on repeat for weeks on end, the groove is unrivalled on this one! Finally, 'Silk Slut' concludes the EP on a slightly darker note with heavy drums, pitched down vocals and a rumbling bass; perfect for after parties.

The first in what is sure to be an accomplished set of EPs, transport yourself to 'Weiss City' for an exploration of the deeper side of house music.

2015 has been a hell of a year for this UK based House duo with all major labels falling over themselves to pick up their next EP. All top-flight DJ’s are also taking notice including Pete Tong who provides regular Radio One support and as an extra string to their musical bow, CamelPhat now debut on Toolroom.

Both tracks on this EP were the result of a studio session that came after a 4-day marathon in Ibiza with very little sleep and various trips to DC-10. Those techy drums, low-slung basslines and sleazy synths reek of the White Isle at 10am on a Monday morning. So, if it’s hot and sweaty beats you are after then look no further. ‘Get Sick’ is a peak-time tech-houser whilst ‘Luna’ delves into darker techno territory but both are welcomed additions to any discerning USB stick!

Jey Kurmis is amongst those at the forefront of the new wave of artists emerging from the north of England. Following his huge debut EP on Hot Creations last year, the talented producer gets set to release the mighty ‘Kari EP’ featuring a Jamie Jones Re-edit and a co-production with Shannon.

All four tracks on the EP are chock full with sonic resonance, monstrous bass-lines, shaking hats, warped melodies, tripped out FX and infectious vocal hooks, all already causing some serious damage on dance-floors. All tracks have been getting heavy support from the crew: Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Waff, Eats Everything and Richy Ahmed.

Jey Kurmis is a Leeds based producer who has been DJing all over the UK for almost a decade and producing for around seven years. From his first release on Phobic Records to this artist defining EP for Hot Creations last year, Jey has been honing his craft with support from some of the biggest names in the game including Heidi, Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed and wAFF.

A name on the rise particularly since he joined the NGE Agency, Jey Kurmis’ other releases and remixes can be found on the likes of VIVA Music, Resonance Records and Wow! Recordings.

Our latest release by our Spanish friends, Ed One & Bodden. Their “Do It” was the best selling track last year on Andre Crom’s OFF Spin label and it’s easy to see why. Their combination of heavy garage beats and catchy-as-hell hooks make their productions a big favourite with loads of DJs. 

This song - “I Can’t Feel” - first appeared as a remix Kevin McKay did on the Glasgow Underground Miami 2015 compilation and picked up support from the likes of Luvstuff, Russ Chimes, Graeme Park, Blonde, Yam Who?, Steve Parrym, Per QX & Dale Middleton. 

After a lot of waiting, we can finally release the full set of remixes. First up is a killer remix from Glasgow's young stars Illyus & Barrientos. Sounding very much like they've fully embraced Back To The Future week and jumped in Marty's Delorean, raided the Stricty Rhythm sample banks of George Morel, Armand Van Helden and Erick Morillo and brought them back to 2015 for a heavy night out at the Sub Club, this is one badass groove that should have places bouncing from now till well into 2016.

Kevin is a massive fan of this vocal and so couldn't resist having another shot at it. His original remix was designed for sunshine dancing in Miami. This new one is a bit deeper, filled with lush strings and a breakbeat breakdown and one to play on the way up to (or way down from full-on madness ;) Last but not least, we have the beautiful, radio-friendly, Dusky-esque original.
