This is great. Reminds me a lot of Nirvana's 'Something In The Way' only with much more interesting instrumentation and production.

“Trudge” alludes to the weird disconnected-yet-superconnected reality that envelopes us all day, every day. We wade through a mire of strangely polished ‘normal’ on every social medium we consume, and then can’t work out why we feel so substandard all the time. We voraciously seek the positive feedback that is designed to suck us in and keep us coming back for more. We scroll, and scroll, and scroll, and scroll. What will it take for us to stop and look up? Or will we all slowly fall into the void?

I once went swimming in Lake Michigan on Christmas which inspired the first verse. The sand was cold, then we went in the freezing water, came out, and the sand felt warm.
