“Trudge” alludes to the weird disconnected-yet-superconnected reality that envelopes us all day, every day. We wade through a mire of strangely polished ‘normal’ on every social medium we consume, and then can’t work out why we feel so substandard all the time. We voraciously seek the positive feedback that is designed to suck us in and keep us coming back for more. We scroll, and scroll, and scroll, and scroll. What will it take for us to stop and look up? Or will we all slowly fall into the void?

Choices

This is an early tune that like many of them, uses several Logic samples (actually I think it was GarageBand back then.) Not the main tune or violins (except that they aren't played live obviously-- are sampled in the sense that individual notes are sampled and interpolated so can be played on a keyboard via EXS24 in Logic or Gband equiv). The opening sound is one of the samples as is the ending sound-- which is a xylophone like sound that also is used throughout the song. Full disclosure here! Who reads these I wonder.
