In the first Reference VS project we squeezed some of the party out of Seth Troxler and some of the percussion expertise from Ryan Crosson to create the still sought after tracks “The Fade” and “The Bumps”. In the second installment of our Reference VS series we wanted to get a bit more soulful, &amp; deep with the music, and highlight two of the world’s finest dub techno artists – Stephen Hitchell (CV313) and Marko Furstenburg (Surphase).

Katalist is a native of Detroit and in an ode to the city's rich cultural heritage, has found a way to creatively and seamlessly weave in many different styles of music into his sets, including funk, hip hop, disco house, techno, ghetto tech and electro.  He is one of the driving forces behind the successful label and event organizers, Bangtech 12, known universally for the epic (and free) pre-Movement kick off event they hold at Bookies in Detroit.  Katlist has been on the decks for over 25+ years honing his craft, cutting his teeth as a DJ for Burton Snowboards early on and as a recording engineer at Disc.  He has held residencies across Detroit and continues to partner with Bookies and Goodnight Gracies for regular events.  When he isn't playing live, you can catch him on Twitch every Sunday from 12-2 for Sunday Brunch. Stepping up for our next BerettaMusic FM Mix series is label owner Ryan Sadorus. Ryan has been a DJ and producer since 1998 and has played internationally in Japan, Guam, Hawaii and select spots in the US. Previously known by his nickname “Ryski” which his parents gave him when he was young, you can find some of his earlier productions out there in the world under this moniker. He's also partnered up with label mate Brian Kage where they produce together as "Airport Society", having released a future classic "Life Like" in 2022 as an ode to Detroit and its rich musical history.  In 2002 he started the label with his good friend Brian Kage and better half Tammy Sadorus (Juju) and has never looked back. With an eye towards quality underground house and techno, Ryan’s selfless approach to building bridges with artists and communities has helped expose new music through the label to the world. His dynamic sound can range from deep dark numbers to crowd pleasing jacking house and vocal tracks…. Today he’s put together a special deep mix for all of our psychonaut friends out there…. so sit back, relax, smoke, shroom and chill to a timeless example of one of his deep late night after hours sets.
