Fast-rising Swiss artist Jelena steps out on AEROBIK with an accomplished EP of deep techno that includes a remix from the innovative PTU pair.

Jelena likes to keep things low-key, which means there isn't much info about her, so the focus is always on her music. Jelena aims to get listeners' minds in a trance through her music and seeks to destruct the idea of conservatism as she breaks new borders. As this new EP on Swiss techno imprint AEROBIK shows, there's a sense of happiness and freedom in her music that makes it utterly absorbing.
The deep opener 'Vatra Gori' pairs deft synth loops with enchanting harmonies and driving, powerful deep techno drums that never let up. Remixing is the Russian PTU duo, who are known as one of the most notable acts on Nina Kraviz's Трип label. Their vital version is laced with sci-fi imagery and exquisite ambient design before the twisted drums and bass begin to get you under their most devastating spell.
'Discos Ohne Theken' is an expertly stripped back and icy minimal track from the Milesian school of techno. Its perfectly pulsing drums and sonar-like synths get you into a state of hypnosis in seconds. Last of all, 'Tonem' flips the script with a delightfully dreamy and melodic deep house roller that has gorgeous chords and shimmering drums that fill you with hope and joy.

'Vatra Gori' is a breakout EP from Jelena, who is sure to be one of 2021's most talked-about artists in the techno world.

Naples-based up-and-comer Mystics is making impressive explorations in the underground scene. His fourth output will land on 47 and marks the apex of his heads down, rolling approach to techno and a development of his left-field futuristic sound.

The extended six-track EP sets the scene with “The Unexplored Pt. 1,” a strung out opener that spits out irradiant shards of glitch and gated vocals. The rest of the EP builds a cohesive canvas from this sonic palette. In “The Unexplored Pt. 2,” washes of static and breakbeats barrel under a drone-like pad, while “Oxford RM” steamrolls ahead with four-to-the-floor kick drums, barbed wire textures and an orbiting melody. On the B-side, the artist leans into his penchant for IDM with “But If” and “Shrouded In Mystery” with their wormhole, Warp-like ambience.Never leaning too far into the past, these songs form a collection of visionary rhythmic techno, conjuring a vision of a world that is as movingly melancholic as it is haunting and spare.
