PlayPlay (they/them)

PlayPlay is an energetic voice of the US queer rave underground, combining their penchant for percussion and bass with nostalgic samples & dreamy synths in both their DJ sets & music production. Their sound is inspired by years of clubbing, crate digging and the sounds they grew up dancing to - 90s club anthems, jungle, breakbeat hardcore, industrial, classic house, techno and old school hip-hop. With releases out on labels such as Sorry Records, Worst Behavior and Clasico Records, as well as a slew of self-releases and collaborations, PlayPlay has been slowly and steadily amassing a thumping discography over the years. You can catch them DJing and throwing parties all over Brooklyn, as well as in their hometown, Durham.

"This is a mix of gay n' guilty pleasures - luscious 90s vocal house, 80s hot rod fantasy tracks, a dash of filthy speed garage and of course, lots of percussion. This is exactly what I would like to be dancing to in a spacious corner during peak time."
