Tanzkombinat Talent Mix #043 by Mia Mangata

Der Umzug von Frankfurt am Main nach Berlin legte 2016 den musikalischen Grundstein für das Soloprojekt Mia Mangata. Fast drei Jahre später – nach Inspiration durch Berlins Kulturkosmos mit seinen unzähligen Clubs – spielte Mia ihre ersten Gigs im Nachtleben der Hauptstadt. Kurz darauf folgten die ersten Features von „Jeden Tag ein Set“.
Anschluss in der Szene und eine Crew fand die Wahlberlinerin schnell. Seit 2020 ist sie Mitglied und Resident-DJ beim Veranstaltungskollektiv LTMD (Less Talking More Dancing). Ihr Steckenpferd: Eine Mischung aus Progressive House, Indie Dance, Melodic Techno und Techno, wobei der treibende Charakter in ihren Sets nie zu kurz kommt. Mia Mangatas energetischer Sound findet sich auch in ihrem ersten Melodic Techno Release „Irregular“ wieder, das sie im Januar gemeinsam mit Floordrobe veröffentlicht hat.

Als Götz am Samstag Morgen nach einer magischen und tanzreichen Nacht in sein Bettchen wollte, stolpert er noch kurz in den Turmbühnen Backstage um sein Bike 
abzuholen und seinem Buddy Mazen gute Nacht zu sagen.

Mazen bestritt gerade seine Schicht als Tontechniker und es herrschte ein wenig Aufregung, da Mark Romboy als nächster Act auftreten sollte, er aber noch nicht anwesend war.
Von da an ging alles sehr schnell. Wie in einem Rausch fusionierten Bratenschneider & Switchbox hinter den Decks und schüttelten ein 2,5 stündiges Set aus den Ärmeln.

Die 2 kennen sich schon ewig, sind beide Produzenten und DJ´s, haben noch nie zusammen gespielt, also ab dafür. ☺

Die Müdigkeit war nach dem ersten Track vergessen, die Sonne und die Crowd glühten.
Das Set ist „energetisch vorwärts“ und „groovig im Hier und Jetzt“ zugleich.

Wie später bekannt wurde,  war Mark von einer Virus–Grippe heimgesucht worden. Er war sogar schon Vorort, aber konnte leider nicht spielen. Dafür wird er aber 2019 sein Fusion-Set nachholen, wie er in seinem Instagram Statement bekannt gibt.

After a magical Friday night which was full of dancing, Götz stumbled past the Turmbühne backstage to get his bike and to say goodnight to his mate Mazen, before he cycled direction bed.

Mazen is one of the sound engineers at Turmbühne, and there was some action going on because Marc Romboy hadnt shown up yet and was due to play the next set. As if in a puff of magic smoke, Bratenscheider and Switchbox fusioned a spontanious back to back set fort the next 2 and a half hours.

These two have known each other for quite a long time, and are both DJs and producers, but had never played together before. 

Any thoughts of sleep dissapeared as the first track played to the radiant dancefloor.
Their set was full of energy and yet groovy in the right place.

We later learnt that Marc had come down with a really bad flu and he had to leave the Fusion to take care of himself. He has now announced via an Instagram message, that his Fusion set is now scheduled  for 2019

In 2008, Denis Lihotzky and Max Keck noticed a void in the Cologne underground music scene. So the two friends decided to start a project with the aim to fill that void: to provide Cologne with a regular event, which focuses on Melodic Techno. As an ode to their homeland, the Oberbergischer Land, they named their event Bergwacht or “Mountain Rescue”, and began to host parties once a month in Cologne’s Artheater. Denis “Liho”, who not only manages its bookings, but is also Bergwacht’s resident DJ, programs each event with an eye for upcoming talent and an ear for extraordinary music. Bergwacht’s guest DJs continue to attract a loyal and energetic audience, and by 2012, Bergwacht has become an important part of the Cologne underground Techno scene. Continuing to follow their passion, in September of 2012, the Oberbergischer troupe launched Bergwacht Records as an outlet to curate and present the music they love most, “Melodic Techno”. Their debut release features Max Keck and his longtime friend and collaborator Sven Kirchner as Tool..8 with remixes by Lanny May and Boss Axis. Bergwacht releases will be available on Vinyl and as digital download. Open your ears and let Bergwacht rescue you.
