I had the honour to play at the amazing Rainbow Serpent Festival this year. 20,000 people far out in the beautiful bush outside Melbourne in Australia. This set was played the first night around 2 o'clock ... 
The only personal comment I have about this set is that it was too short!

Releasing this Spring on legendary DJ Victor Calderone's Matter+ imprint, NYC-based Avision comes full steam ahead with a brand new future tech-laden EP. He keeps in full step with the label's sound on these 3 effective tracks that urge you to let loose on the dancefloor. The EP's namesake "Free Your Mind" kicks things off with its chugging percussion, rolling low-end bassline, and intermittent echoing vocal sample. Up next is "Over Time," whose rhythm keeps chuggin' and tuggin' at your consciousness while steady chord jabs keep you grounded. "Space Dub" follows, almost genius in its simplicity, full of bubbly basslines and mechanical shuffles that keep things in perpetual motion. Rounding things off, a righteous re-rub of the title track by UK Techno producer Mark Broom, who now returns the favor in droves by trippin out "Free Your Mind" with his claps and intense tweaks. With his fresh take on NYC techno, Avision's legacy is rippling through clubland like a type 1A Supernova exploding in the farthest reaches of our galaxy... and he's just getting started.

The Ukrainian native is known of his deep and profound sounds of techno, where textures and ambiances equal the power of the beat. Active since 2015, the artist has released his productions for example under labels Circular Limited, Affin, Northallsen, Illegal Alien and Nachstrom Schallplatten.

@Ness is a dj and producer born and raised in Sardinia, acknowledged for his style over a decade of music with a background in sound engineering and many years of research and fine-tuning. He gradually developed a distinct technique with a strong focus on atmosphere combined with hypnotic rhythms. Having performed in some of the most relevant clubs and festivals around the globe, he steadily releases music and collaborates with several renowned techno labels within the scene. With experience as label manager through the years with partnership on Mono Records and The Gods Planet, he later established his spin off project label Ness Reworks in 2018. Ness music and dj set are well accepted and defined as an exploration of wide range of deep hypnotic techno and ambient soundscapes.

The attention the Amsterdam scene currently enjoys is, in no small part, down to the tireless work of Sandrien. She’s been there since the nineties, with residences at Trouw and now De School, close ties to Rush Hour and also through her own parties, which have been bringing the likes of DJ Nobu and Blawan to the city for years. Her uncompromising techno style has taken her around the world and to labels like Ben Sims’ Theory, amongst others. In short, she is a living local legend.

Sandrien takes a long view on this mix, starting with an escapist ambient selection that gets your attention. It transports you to a different world before the DJ puts her foot down and brings the grooves. Things remain decidedly cinematic and intergalactic over the course of the next hour, with various shades of deep techno eventually ending up in a place of ambient beauty not far from where you started. It’s a rounded mix that begs to be played over and over.

Dekmantel Podcast 238 - Sandrien

The Alchemical Theory project was born in 2018 from the creative union of three italian producers: Kill Acid on Space, Unclear and Øyvind (owner of Subosc Records together Kaelan). The identity of the project has been very influenced by the favorite sounds of the three artists, ranging from modular electronic sounds to much more atmospheric sounds. This project also comes from the love of mysticism, alchemy and nature. In each release they want to represent something that affects the listener's mind, reproducing a real mental journey.
