Well-established French label Happiness Therapy will be celebrating three years of releases this February. To commemorate such a milestone, the imprint will be releasing a nine-track VA in the form of 3 Years of Happiness. Featured guests include DJOKO and B From E, whilst several firm label favourites also appear on the VA, teaming up to produce a set of exclusive collaborations. 

“After these wonderful first three years of existence, and the recent success of Jesse Bru’s album on the label, I wanted to give it back to our fans by releasing our biggest project to date!” - Simon Blondeau aka Crowd Control.

Each track embodies the Happiness Therapy ethos through and through, as does each artist’s relationship with the label. From Crowd Control's maiden release in 2018, to DJOKO’s soon-to-be debut, the family feel runs deep: resulting in a compilation of feel-good, house-inspired musical goodness that encapsulates just what Happiness Therapy is about !

GgDex joins Paille Records with a driving three-track EP, 'I Won't Let You'. 'Acid Voyage' delivers stripped-back, driving drums with flaring hi-hats and rides that build up alongside an acid bassline with floating vocal samples and atmospheric keys in and out. The EP title track follows with a classic, straight rhythm, soulful keys and heavy pads. I Won't Let You brings a reminiscent 90's House feel through its vocal chops and percussion tailored for the dance floor. 'The Corner' keeps the momentum going with straight drums and a UK-forward bassline that lays the foundation for the recurring vocal samples.

A 12" featuring four different artists from the relatively new label from DJ and producer Anton Bogomolov aka Scruscru (SlothBoogie Jamz/Omena), although it has to be said its individuality and freshness are increasingly upping its profile as each new released drops. Russian duo Street Choice open up this time round, getting the swears in in a matter of seconds (and throughout) but lifting us into orbit with 'Still On Is MF Record', a gloriously sweat soaked collision of house, disco and US garage. 

Evidently feeling a bit more mellow, Scruscru himself offers up a Flute mix of 'Long & Sleepless Nights', evoking jazzier French house scenesters like Etienne de Crecy or St Germain. On the flip, Juravlove's 'Boys & Girls' ups the tempo again and the mood with it, a cure acid line sneaking in behind more organic instrumentation. The more reflective Nephews' 'Polo Blanco' brings things to a warm, more snuggly close, ultimately leaving us with an Ep that has heaps of variety and quality in equal measures.

PREMIERE: Nephews - Polo Blanco

Fresh from the recent success of “Makes Me Happy” & “Amberjack”, that saw Dan Be and Marc Brauner make their names on the imprint once again, Happiness Therapy continues a standout run of releases this December, with a new and long awaited four-track offering from label-founder @crowdcontrol92.

“I collaborated with the south korean singer & artist ÜJEAN on this EP, with Marc Brauner remixing one of the tracks. I wanted to explore diverse influences, most of which had never been included in my music in the past. It's a versatile piece - and one that I'm very happy with!” - Crowd Control.

Crowd Control has been heading up Happiness Therapy since 2018, flying the flag for France’s underground music scene ever since. An established DJ, producer and event curator, his label has gone from strength to strength, boasting an already solid back-catalogue of productions, with many more to come !
