From the coziest speakeasy bars to the tastiest late night sandwich counters, New York City is full of delightful secrets that reward those lucky enough to find them. One of Brooklyn’s best kept secrets is Kyle Louis (fka KLM), a talented yet unassuming veteran of the underground house scene who now makes his debut with the Run It Back EP.
The third Fortune Signal label release features Louis’s impeccable original productions, in which he explores a variety of emotions, rhythms, and times of the night. Classic synths, ethereal vocal chops, and subtle dubby effects provide an overall sense of cohesion throughout.The end product is a collection of fresh, contemporary compositions rooted in classic house music language, each track full of the potential to inspire transcendent dancefloor moments. 
Run It Back is a culmination of Kyle Louis’s years spent both in the club and the studio. Louis spent nearly a decade DJing and throwing parties in NYC, sharing stages with the likes of Tom Noble, Jacques Renault, and Juan MacLean before taking a break to refocus his energy on production. His past disco edits, beloved by the DJs fortunate enough to get their hands on them, have given him an innate understanding of dance music fundamentals. These experiences have served as the foundation for Kyle Louis’s creative voice as he ushers in this exciting new chapter of his understated but vital musical journey.

On remix duties is Will Buck, a producer, DJ, and label boss well known in the NYC and Miami dance music communities, with releases on such labels as Shall Not Fade, Pleasant Systems, and Whiskey Disco. Buck flips “Should I Go?” into a down and dirty house banger that’s driven by a forceful breakbeat and punctuated with a sinister rhodes melody.

Underground System returns to @razor-n-tape with the ‘Looking In EP’ -  a 5-track offering of fresh originals and remixes. Ranging from low-slung Balearic grooves, to driving left-field funk and urgent up-tempo backbeats, the record is a fine-tuning of the US sound, complete with their signature flute and synth soundscapes, driving percussion, and catchy offbeat vocal hooks. On the B-side, RNT mainstays Nenor and Clive From Accounts take two of the tunes into clubbier territory, with a pair of remixes that are primed for the dance floor.

"Clocking in next on Infinite Pleasure is French sensation Blazers with his newest four-tracker, ‘Midnight Resource'. Here again stepping up with a hotter-than-hot batch of his signature hi-NRG booty-shakers and classic house era-style shufflers, the Parisian-based producer treats us to an unrelenting orgy of jacking prog, ruff-edged envelopes and dusty synth swashes.

Encapsulating the widest array of Blazers’ playful palette, the title-track is as much a homage to the intoxicatingly sensual house sound of the mid-90s as it is an unabashed nod to happy hardcore and classic acid wares from the same epoch. A doped-up maelstrom of buoyant piano stabs, processed vox and fevered drum patterns on the prowl for some raving fresh meat, this one’s got club-destroyer written all over it. Further spacious and quirky, ’Stargazer’ has us tripping out to a slo-scudding tapestry of washed-out, Sino-flavoured keys, vaporous pads and off-kilter percussive work dipped in a thick sauce of acid. Weird tropical funk laced with ambient-adjacent, meditative properties, what’s more to ask for.

Flip sides and there’s ‘Love Hotline’ taking care of the more languid, hedonistic side of one’s fantasies. All in ektachromatic mellifluousness and soft-handed chug, this is house music at its most delicate and charmingly naive, bound to trigger off feelgood memories of coastal vacations and love-in-the-air kind of moments. Rounding off the journey, ‘Klein & Blue’ beckons us onto a further exotic pathway, where the gently enticing appeal of tapping drums, faux-organic textures and late 70s-early 80s discoid fun symbiotically converge to form an equally poetic and dynamic symphony of sorts. Sprinkle that with a healthy dose of xylophonic hoodoo and balearic riffs, and you get a helluva summertime choon, all set at blasting out loud in the open-top."
