Morris Audio welcomes another new exciting member to the family: Formasoul from Berlin! His “Get into the groove” is a classic deep and dubby House tune for more relaxed occasions. On remix duty is Chocky, no stranger to the scene with several releases on labels like Big Bait or Steve Bug’s Dessous Recordings. His remix
keeps the deep and dubby vibe, but adds more club flavour to make this a perfect early or late hours tune. Last but not least is Wearing Shoes (aka Alfonso Bottone), who provides his signature string laden House style. All killers no fillers!

Maai Records fires up the next release by inviting seven friends and fellow artists to provide a track each, building a family feel in the early days of the label. Heading up the release we have DJ Bowlcut, Rawdio, Rubinskee, Rassan, Vince Void, and Nørus & DJ Whipr Snirp.

Opener “Vibe” from DJ Bowlcut is a slink house track cruising on sweet melodies, and perfectly weighted drum work. Next on the agenda is “Energy” an aptly named track from, Rawdio, spreading a feel good vibe with this uplifting encounter. Rubinskee steps up to the plate with “Tei'' constructed with dusty old school drums, and emotional synth work drawing you in. Rassan delivers a house heater in the form of his track “Luv”, driven dance floor energy, continuously evolving into squelchy acid goodness.

Vince Void’s “Garros” is a slick rolling number from the get go, a rippling organ sets the scene for a playful lift off, accelerating out of the racing blocks. Closing the genre melding VA is Nørus & DJ Whipr Snirp. Their “Crystal Thief” track is over six minutes of pure class, pitched down electro and breaks at its finest. Melt in your mind acid spirals around clean drumwork, before a nostalgic retro synth brings the funk flavour.

Maai Records explores new terrains with this VA release, following on from a heavyweight inauguration of the label from Lis herself, the future looks bright for the young label as we move into the back end of 2021.

Described by Mixmag as ‘‘one of the fast-rising producers of the moment”, he’s been a founding member of Pont Neuf since its inception in 2016, going on to release several EPs and his maiden album on the label.Spanish-Mexican artist Lis Sarroca is a well-established figure in today’s dance music scene, boasting releases on several industry-defining imprints including Hot Haus Recs, Mobilee and many more besides. Marc Brauner has proved himself to be a prolific producer in recent years, making esteemed appearances on Houseum Records, Happiness Therapy and even Shall Not Fade. Tour-Maubourg is another entrenched talent within the French house scene. A regular of Pont Neuf since the label’s formation, he has landed productions on Shall Not Fade and Noire & Blanche also. Black Loops is the Berlin-based mainstay who’s no stranger to labels as esteemed as Toy Tonics, Pets Recordings and Classic Music Company to name a few."

From the twilight zone of Rhythm Section International comes a new label for 2017: INTERNATIONAL BLACK.
International Black is the sound when the lights go off.
Recorded entirely on analogue hardware via reel to reel tape, this inaugural release features two hypnotic and timeless tracks from two of South London’s finest exponents of real house music.
The record is made with the dancefloor in mind; channelling that moment in the club where things get dark, hypnotic, a bit weird and a lot more interesting.

Pushing (303 Jazz Mix) - Phrased

Reissued from the original DAT tapes 'Spring Dom' is one of those timeless records that even 15 years on sounds as soulful as it did when it first hit the racks. Echoed sweeping stabs, chunky drum loops and powerful synth flurries alongside those mesmerising vocal refrains, all tied together with a driving bassline - this is deep, deep goodness of the highest degree. Reworking 'Spring Dom' for the present day, WOLF mainstay Medlar provides a rave tinged remix, chopping the vocals and reworking the synth lines to give it a peak time, dancefloor demeanour. 

The flip houses the other two tracks from the original '03 release - 'Clubtronic' with it's UKG flavoured beat, M1 pads and jazzy free flowing melodies and 'Miss You' combining a bumping groove, dynamic bass melody and stirring Rhodes chords.

A much-welcomed reissue package from the WOLF camp and a chance to own this house treasure without feeding the sharks.

BRS - Spring Dom

Flight Mode makes a welcome return to Delusions, this time joining forces with Joel Brittain to come up with another killer release in the form of 'Burn This'. Those who caught his last one 'It’s So Nice' last year will know the drill; epic, rolling, dubbed-out loopy uptempo house based around a classic disco bassline which patiently builds, increasing in intensity Wild Pitch style. 

This premiere's 'Burn This' treads similar waters with subtle arpeggios floating around an incessant groove whilst layers of vocal pads build to a crescendo over a beautiful ten minute ride. Proper mid-set heat raising material this - a bag essential.
