Sugar Tapes Recordings presents its first release, exclusively available on vinyl. The 12” has 2 tracks written by Taho and Matt Sugar R and is a House banger.
Taho is no stranger to the industry with releases on Laurent Garnier’s label “F communications”, Josh Wink’s imprint “Ovum”, Kevin Saunderson’s “KMS” to name a few.
Matt Sugar R ran the successful radio show “Warm Underground Session” on the Belgian radio Warm FM for over 2 years, with prestigious guests, airing every Saturday night at prime time. After a first EP on the Detroit based label “Visillusion” of Thomas Barnett, he is now releasing his 2nd production, in collaboration with Taho on this EP. The two artists came together to create a blend of Jazz, House and Funk with extraordinary power.
“Dopaminovor” is deeply rooted in African grooves. The track practically becomes a Jazz piece as Taho adds his typical piano jams to the track.
“Funky Boogie” is an intense Funky piece with once again strong roots in African rhythms.
The vinyl is exclusively available on Bandcamp and limited to 300 copies.

It had its own distinctive New Yorkian twist with much material on it produced by the legendary Burrell Brothers. Here we are reminded why it is such a vital label with an EP from Acid Jerks that embodies everything that made it so: warm kick drums, musical melodies and a sense of soul that is impossible to ignore. After a smooth opener, 'Distant Power Plant' has a more raw and menacing bassline tearing up the raw drums and 'A Thousand Kisses' then leans into a serene techno vibe but still with house music as the foundation. The warm late-night chords of closer 'Organ Grinder' make it the standout.

Acid Jerks - Counter Balance

This mesmerizing track is a soulful journey that features ethereal beats, melancholic chords, and a mellow baseline, which together create an uplifting atmosphere. The addition of a heartwarming sample from Charlie Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" adds a revitalizing touch to the track, making it a beautiful and moving experience.
