And that's what I believe I have done with the music behind "Hey Leila."
So, let's do it humbly as well, and remove my voice from it.

And you know what? You can download it.
Because nowadays, too much junk is being made, and there's even the expectation of making money from it. I want to oppose that.

And even worse. Some think the world needs to be divided in a good part and a bad part. That is, of course, completely absurd when you consider the ordinary citizen, which I hope is you and me. I have listeners in Ukraine, Russia, Israel, and the USA... not Iran though (I think they are blocking me there :-) )... but I could go on for many other places where situations are not quite good at the moment.

We all need a touch of sentiment. Whether it's in music, art, in literature, or simply in watching the blossoms on the trees. Deep within ourselves, we need to reflect on what we are doing. That's quickly going in the wrong direction nowadays. But I strongly believe in the power of humanity. Okay, I'm not a political knight either, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

I hope you ALL can enjoy this blend of pop and classical music.

22 years ago, in 2003, "Venus In Flames" (the band of singer-songwriter Jan De Campenaere) released this song.

This morning, I heard it on the radio once again. And since it was raining anyway, I thought: come on let's go for it: If I ever wanted to cover songs, this should be absolutely one of them.
It is a hidden gem.

I would recommend everyone to stream the original.
It stands out in its simplicity. But be aware. You'll never get this one out of your mind/ear again.

I use synths, keys, an old guitar and occasionally my voice, or that of friends.
Knee cymbals turned out to be quite useful, just as beautiful samples do.
