Singer / songwriter Bertie Higgins ("Key Largo", "Just Another Day in Paradise", "Casablanca") returns to his acoustic / folk roots with this new album, "Dancing in the Tradewinds".  He tells tales of growing up on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, exploring the Caribbean and Asia, and slips a pirate or a smuggler or two in the mix for good measure.  All of the songs are original except one.  "Crossing the Bar" was written by Alfred Lord Tennyson back in the 1800's just prior to his passing and has become one of Bertie's favorites. This album project is "For your consideration" for the 58th Grammy Awards in the Folk category.  This has also been entered into the Packaging and Liner notes categories. He even included his ninety nine year old Mother talking about the old days in Florida, his two sisters on back ground harmonies and adapted a poem written by his great Grandfather, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe the acclaimed German poet of "Faust" fame.
