I saw the documentary "Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda" the other day, and it inspired me to make my first field recording. I added some minimalistic sounds to it. 

I already loved the music from Ryuichi Sakamoto, but the documentary made me appreciate him and his music even more. 
I love how he respects sound; it seems like he considers every sound to be its own entity with a soul and consciousness. He honors every sound. 

I have noticed that I sometimes hide my voice in songs, or hide the words and melodies. I guess that comes from being insecure about the melody, or my ability to write. There's usually also a lot of things going on in my songs, and in a way, I sometimes hide sound by just putting a lot of stuff together, and hoping the jumble of melodies will sound alright together. Ryuichi Sakamoto has really inspired me to have more patience, to appreciate sounds, and to really showcase every sound, instead of hiding them away. To respect sound and to really listen.
