During the green pedestrian crossing sequence, crossed Gray's Inn Road to the corner of Birkenhead Street, beside the tree, in front of betting shop. 

In an outdoor shopping centre in North Amsterdam, I sat down for a bit of a record. Almost immediately a hurdy gurdy man rolls up behind me, with his huge books of hole-punched music, a can of coins, and a diesel generator. It was all a bit thrilling. On leaving, I noticed he looked much younger (and leaner) than expected. I decided he was a PhD student making a living at the weekends.

Standing on a pedestrian median refuge island opposite 1 Euston Road
Slightly west of the signal controlled pedestrian crossing on Gray's Inn Road (south side)
Vehicles including buses, vans, taxis, cars
Pedestrians including those with towed luggage
Passers-by using the pavement and the crossing from Euston Road to the junction with Pentonville Road and York Way
