I love artists who explore many different fields of creativity . . . different forms of expression. John Lurie has been an actor, a painter, and also a musician. His original scores for the films of Jim Jarmusch (which he also starred in) are prized amongst my record collection. And so this mix revolves around the music of John Lurie. His solo work, his band The Lounge Lizards, and his work under the odd alias Marvin Pontiac. This mix is recorded straight from my turntable, and all the tracks are from records I’ve been listening to a lot over the last year or so. Enjoy!

Peter Broderick - Drawing Circles Around John Lurie

As a DJ, producer and remixer, Michael Mayer remains one of Germany's core celebrities in dance music. It's no secret that he spends his weekends traveling around the globe and back. Then, as a co-owner of Kompakt, he spends his weekdays deciding what will be released on the label and working with the label's artists. Amazingly enough, he manages to sneak into the studio on occasion to produce his own music and remix the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Foals and Rufus Wainwright. It's safe to say he loves being challenged and regardless of the pressure is never putting less than 100% of his heart and soul into everything he does.

In spring 2016 Mayer released his 3rd full-length album »&« on K7, a passionate and personal collection of tracks he produced cooperating with soulmates like Barnt, Prins Thomas, Hauschka, Joe Goddard, Miss Kittin, Kölsch or Roman Flügel.

Shortly after he was set to contribute to the legendary DJ Kicks series, again for K7.

Since March 2018 he is hosting his very own radio show on WDR Cosmo.

In April 2020 Michael released his first solo 12inch in ages called Higher.

A new project initiated by yours truly which is not a radio in the true sense of the word, more a collective hub which gathers a selection of our favorite record labels, showcasing playlists from each of their back catalogues and occasional exclusive mixes. These independent labels are some of the finest of their kind, filled with artists and attitudes that we believe exemplify a creative spirit for the future. Carving a niche in anything from the esoteric to the leftfield, global dance or laidback ambience alike. We strive to open a path into their psyches through sounds, words and visions. Anya Karmanova aka Anya has been involved in the music world her whole life.
