Before you an extraordinary set created by the Persian duo Madota. Two very warm, funny and incredible beings we truly see as brothers. We met years ago at one of Mira's birthday parties. It was as random as it was funny to meet the tall characters somewhere in the maze of endless entertainment. 

There was always a desire to work with the two. Their sets and performances have this alluring energy. But some things take time and so did our collaboration.

Babylon Family Series #006 - Madota

My dear friends

I am happy to share my live recordings of one of the most magical night of my career so far.
I was invited to play in Oaxaca, Mexico together with Acid Pauli during 'Day of the dead' on 31st of oct 2015.
We played in some kind of old spanish church in the middle of the night. Because it was ‘the day of the death’ everybody was dressed like skelletons. They painted me as my dog Rivaldo, that passed away 3 months ago.
You can imagine playing in Mexico in a temple, on the day of the dead, with Acid Pauli, in front of Skelletons, while I was painted like my Rivaldo (and Martin had some kind of Jezus outfit) was pretty magical.

So I am excited to share with you the live recordings of this night.
I want to thank Mariana, ALKEMY and gem&bolt party w/ guest mezcal Amores and Meteoro to set up this night.
And all the people who came to show: you really made that temple come alive again!!

As time goes by and the weather gets colder, one could tell, who ever went to the german Black Forest it could be an extremely creative dark cosmos perfect for creating new sounds. It was from within this sphere the producer duo Paul Hoffer and Chris Kusterer came together and became PHCK. Chris as DJ and Paul as a classical musician started creating music together in late 2013. Soon, some tracks came together and people started to appreciate their music and encourage the duo to create more. 2014 became a busy year as they played together at Ozon Club, Pforzheim, which built up a steady reputation in its 20 years club experience for newcomers and experiments, along with releasing their output to the world, and therefore cementing their union as PHCK further. Sharing the passion and the vision to elaborate an ecstatic and sophisticated sound, PHCK work exceedingly well together. Classical Piano elements and violinist tracks are accompanied in an exclusive release.

In 2016 Paul and Chris provided Chapter 24 with a remix for THe WHite SHadows’ track 'Goodbye' that was released on the label's compilation, while at the beginning of 2017 Connaisseur Recordings released their track 'Aeris' for the Livingroom Techno 7 compilation. The spheric track peaked at #11 in the Beatport charts and was followed by another release, 'Ozon' with Rauschhaus on Manual Music. The emotional track ‘Death of A Butterfly’ was released on All Day I Dreams Summer Sampler 2017 besides great tracks of Lee Burridge & Lost Desert, Zone+, Superlounge, Gab Rhome, Budakid & Modd. In this very special and bodacious time Stefan Kling joined the musical project PHCK. As a singer and founder of a local music school since 2004 he’s predestinated for the additional touch of the project. He is a musical all-rounder and his focus lies on the piano, drums and percussions. 

In summary it can be said, that PHCK’s music is a transformation of their own emotions, meaning that there is not only black or white in their perception. Their music is a reflection of sensitivity - of love, hope, grief, reflectiveness and sometimes a cold and dark emptiness. Native, honest and a touch mysterious, PHCK’s music should be listened by everyone who is ready to admit feelings.

In the month of June, when living gets easy and temperatures are rising, it is the perfect time to enjoy a tropical cocktail. And it couldn’t get more tropical than with today’s special. 100% natural, refreshing and healthy: the coconut, cracked open by no one less than the Sol Selectas label head, Sabo.  

Sabo’s name has long been held in high esteem with the Afro-Latin House and the Moombahton scene. Today, Sabo is digging deeper into Tribal and Tech sounds. Behind the decks, his innovative approach to each DJ set makes him a consistent stand out at Festivals like Coachella, Lightening in a Bottle, Shambhala, Fusion, Symbiosis, Desert Hearts, Further Future, and Burning Man’s Robot Heart bus.  

As a label boss, he is known for his dynamic vision. Sol Selectas started back in 2004 as vinyl only imprint and platform for Sabo’s remixes and mashups. Today the label captures a wide array of sounds, enlisting up and coming underground producers from all over the globe, as well as prominent well-known producers in the industry, focusing the sound on deep spiritual dance music, guiding its listeners into the future realm with positive intention. 

Sabo once said he likes to DJ outdoors within nature, where he feels connected to the Earth when dancing. His sets always tell a story, with lots of tribal percussions, this time filled with super chilled out vibes and foot tapping downtempo beats. It’s never aggressive, but always groovy. You can literally hear the waves breaking into a magical turquoise lagoon, filled with colorful tropical fish and fringed by palms, when sipping off this delicious Coconut.  

By the way did you know that plastic straws make the top 10 list of litter items on beaches? One of the best way to reduce your plastic footprint is to avoid using plastic straws and use stainless steel straws instead. As we did for Sabo’s coconut

Today we announced our program for The Dunes of Babylon. On May 25 we return for the third time to a place where two free worlds become one. We have created a line up that is very very close to our hearts. YokoO, that has been with us since the first show and that has just released such a stunning album, the return of Maga to our Dunes, the incredible above and beyond music of Feathered Sun and the hot Mexican vibes of The Soul Brothers. 

The Soul Brothers are two musicians we simply can't get enough of.. And so to celebrate this magical reunion and to give thanks to our community that supported this show straight to selling out.. We hereby release a set of The Soul Brothers recorded at our very own Wild as the Moon last month.

The April Fools - The Soul Brothers (Live @ Wild As The Moon March)

It was a Wednesday afternoon, MW artcar’s engine starts and together with a wave of bikes we begin our ride through the dust. Slaloming through the art installation, encountering the most special and magical moment on the Playa with a beautiful shining sun, we are so impressed by the conviviality of the lifeless desert. Julien on the saxophone, Thomas on the piano, we begin our new live set, relaxed. 
Halfway through, the wind increases, we spot a cloud of dust approaching and in a few minutes, we became surrounded by a dust storm! Praying our gears won’t drop on us and aging by the minute with our white sandy airs and eyebrows, we eagerly continue, until the clouds and the storm starts clearing. The Shining in the Dark. This is the type of moment where you realize the magical events of life, the luck we are blessed to live, and how this experience will forever be engraved in our hearts.

This chapter of our existence feels like entering an unknown dimension.

Standing still, yet everything moving at the speed of light.

Connected more than ever, yet a digital solitude made of hertz and pixels.

Traveling from an abstract uncertainty towards a beam of hope and togetherness, I trust that this period of humanity will bring the change we need to be more united.
