Life projects pictures of summer nights on you when you had your head up high in velvet clouds and your feet down on green meadows. Days when you fell in love with everything you saw, everyone you met and every idea that came to your mind. Made plans only to throw them over the next second. Failed at making decisions. When you read books, remembered a long forgotten song, created art. Sometimes loved too much or loved too little. Nights when you were concerned and desperate. When you felt too much and not enough all at the same time - slowly causing cracks in your painted surface. You dreamed hours, days and months away, lost yourself here to find yourself back there. Circled around yourself and others, gained experiences that left marks on you. And your painted body of canvas starts to crumble, falling off yourself till there’s nothing left then a new blank page to fill with something new.

The Circl’s first release "Velvet Lane" is coming at the 1st of February! Beside Bask there will be 3 other chapters full of stories made of sounds rather than words on WIDE AWAKE’s new EP. And until then, see and listen to what has inspired this story for Bask.

Having already contributed a remix to the third EP on @heimlichaufsc, Berlin-based downtempo wizard @ddoollpphh now returns to the label with a solid solo EP consisting of four original mixes and remixes by @arutani and @oh_why.

Chasing the Dragon enchants with a distinctive mixture of organic elements and well-dosed synth lines, creating a unique sound oscillating between dancefloor energy and living room atmosphere. Originating from Dolph's infamous live performances, the 11th EP out on Heimlich Musik paints a coherent and homogeneous picture. The release's title track is a metaphoric attempt to chase your inner dragon, describing a passionate state of consciousness between self-destruction and perfectionism, and the challenging attempt to find the balance between light and darkness. Highlighting melancholic elements with bright bell sounds, this inner fight is drawn in vivid detail, leaving the question open if the dragon ever gets caught. OMFG picks up this vibe without giving a clear answer - creating a euphoric feeling of enlightenment by mixing up a dominant lead sound with humanoid drums. As a symbol of falling for the dark side, Lilith is building up an atmosphere of irrational and passionate instincts, which are present as a dominant mood throughout every element of the track. Invictus is in turn built upon a certain kind of optimism that emerges at the end of Dolph’s Chasing the Dragon. In his remix, O/Y strips down OMFG to its very essentials, building up a version that can be identified as the signature O/Y sound from the very first second, through his use of groove – without losing the originals’ focus. Arutani, on the other hand, tries to make sure the dragon gets caught in the end.
