Based in Buenos Aires, Lucefora encompasses different genres and influences, exploring a continuous journey through rich textures and emotional states. His love for deep indie music is prevalent in his productions that is comprised of organic elements of percussion, guitar rhythms and pianos. His music has been featured on highly-respected labels such as All Day I Dream, Akbal and Kindisch to name a few, making his way to Loot Recordings for his debut album.

Ātman is a Sanskrit word that means inner-self, spirit, or soul. The true self of an individual beyond identification with phenomena, the essence of an individual. A fitting title for a debut album, the twelve track collection defines Lucefora’s current sound that is layered with electrifying melodies, vibrant percussion, emotive strings and dreamy chords.

Driven by his musical intuition, the collection of tracks represents his dynamic diversity and powerful sense for what works on the dance floor. An atmospheric journey of inspiration and exciting sounds, we invite you to go within and experience the beautiful music of Lucefora.

2. El principio de correspondencia

Este principio incorpora la verdad de que hay siempre una correspondencia entre las leyes y fenómenos de los diversos planos de existencia y vida. El viejo axioma hermético lo ponía en estas palabras: «Como es arriba, es abajo; como es abajo, es arriba.» Y la captación de este principio da uno de los medios de solucionar muchas oscuras paradojas y secretos escondidos de la Naturaleza. Hay planos más allá de nuestro conocimiento, pero cuando les aplicamos el principio de correspondencia somos capaces de entender mucho que de otro modo nos habría sido incognoscible. Este principio es de aplicación y manifestación universal, en los diversos planos del universo material, mental y espiritual; es una ley universal. Los antiguos hermetistas consideraban este principio como uno de los más importantes instrumentos mentales por el que el hombre era capaz de atisbar a un lado de los obstáculos que ocultan lo desconocido a la vista. Su uso incluso rasgaba el velo de Isis hasta el punto de que podía verse un vislumbre de la cara de la diosa. Igual que un conocimiento de los principios de la Geometría capacita al hombre para medir soles distantes y sus movimientos, mientras está sentado en su observatorio, así un conocimiento del principio de correspondencia capacita al hombre para razonar inteligentemente desde lo conocido hasta lo desconocido. Estudiando a la mónada, entiende al arcángel.

On the 26 of June 2018, our beloved friend Bas Engels was taken out of this world. A few days after the news broke, Kraut and René Opsedee had a vision at one of Bas’ favorite festivals, Fusion. A tribute had to be made for this loving, colorful soul, this rebel and founding father of Shoeless, Alter Ego Night and Confetteria.

A week later the track Confetti was born with the spot-on words of Dutch poet Rene Oskam and sung by Belgian singer René Opsedee. A mesmerizing tribute to the man who touched the lives of so many people in the Amsterdam music scene.

On the same day, the track came together, Kraut shared the track with Acid Pauli, also a good friend of Bas through music. During sundown that same day he played the track for many of Bas’ friends and family. It was a special moment. There, Acid Pauli decided to do his one version to celebrate the positive impact Bas had on him as well.

One of the last conversations Kraut had with Bas was about setting up a new label/agency to give the talent they were surrounded with a platform to grow beyond themselves. Now this conversation has become reality and The Other Eye is the result of Bas’ dream to connect creatives in new ways. Everyone who worked on the EP is either a good friend of Bas or has been touched otherwise by his enthusiasm.

So... We’re proud as a peacock to present the first tangible result in the form of an EP named Confetti, the stuff Bas liked to throw around in almost unlimited quantities. The Confetti EP is a physical tribute to Bas in an attempt to capture the soul of everything he stood for. Included are an exclusive remix by Acid Pauli and artwork by the talented Lotte van de Hoef.

To get this EP on vinyl we started a crowdfunding campaign. If 151 people order the EP, we’ve reached break-even and the record will be printed. The price for this EP is 13 euro. We have 30 days to make it happen.
