Our latest White Sand EP comes from acclaimed Spanish producer Pedro Sanmartín, who has created a flurry of lush soundscapes that rise and fall in intensity, driven forwards by snaking melodies and ethereal chords.

The opening track ‘White Sand', from which the release derives its name, exemplifies Pedro's mastery of taking his listeners on a journey.

As clipped vocal samples echo in the background, he teases and then releases beautiful modular synth lines, all the while playing with evocative pads to create a listening experience that is nostalgic yet beautiful, refined yet loose.

His dub version of the title track follows next on the EP, and builds on his already stellar work. Now with added weight to the kick drum, the track feels heavier, but also more pared back. Pedro trades in some of the more prominent melodies from the original version for a mix that centers itself around its percussion, with the result being six straight minutes of groove that will perfectly soundtrack many Mediterranean sunsets this summer.

On ‘Atlantis', the producer delivers a sweeping, dreamlike funk that will fill any dancefloor. Glittering arpeggios are punctuated by thick, stabbing base notes, creating an irresistible combination. The drums are simple and allow the gorgeous, shimmering melodies space to breathe, while being bouncy enough to push the rhythm forwards.

For remix duties, we've recruited Plecta and Nhar, who each take their turns at offering their own unique spin on the Spaniard's original productions.

Nhar goes straight for the kill with his French House inspired remix of ‘Atlantis'. Featuring a disco-tinged groove, combined with a stiff beat and repeating bassline, he establishes an intoxicating rhythm straight away that does not let up for a full eight minutes.

Meanwhile, Plecta introduces soaring, hypnotic vocals to ‘White Sand', creating an entirely new atmosphere, something altogether more lyrical and mysterious. But rather than soften the original track up, he adds new rolling djembe drums and a new swing that makes Plecta's take immediately danceable.

Philip James de Vries has created a lovely dreamy and deep interpretation of 'Triangles' whilst Audioglider does his magic with an uplifting broken beat version of 'Balearic'.

LTR Premiere: Ivan Sandhas - Kalopsia [Dialtone Records]

This year we are celebrating the 15th anniversary of our label and on
this occasion we have prepared several releases under the name "15 Years
of Exotic".

Chapter 2 of the series comes with another four fresh remixes of tracks
that have been released in recent years on Exotic Refreshment and Exotic
Refreshment LTD.

Sampler starts with a new mesmerizing Matija & Richard Elcox Remix of
Manucho's "The Fire Whisperer", in which Matija and Rich used a fragment
of the narrative from the movie 'Oshkigin Spirit of Fire'. In this place
we would like to thank the people at Dovetail Partners and all those
involved in the making of their fantastic film - video can be found

melodic, a fresh remix of "Every End Is A New Beginning" by SevenJune &
Ian Ludvig, provided by Greek producer VieL. The second part of the
release opens AmuAmu with his fresh look at one of our favorite tracks
of 2018: HAFT - Ountera. And last but not least, a crazy interpretation
from Dandara of well received track "Jana" by Bahramji & Medusa Odyssey.

Making a welcome return to Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint, about:river unveils the first sampler from their debut album '24 Years Apart'. Based in Estonia, about:river is a unique collaborative project between father and son. Conceptualized by father Oleg in 2018, the following year saw his 12-year-old son Ervin join the project. Initially a clarinet and keyboard player, Ervin quickly became a committed member of the project, contributing not only to live performances but also in the creative process, writing the main themes of their musical creations. Their productions tell a dynamic and sometimes epic story that happens to be set in a dance-groove environment. Since first emerging, the duo's fresh style has continued to delight both their fans and contemporaries, with the world's premiere electronic music tastemakers championing their work. An initial bond with Sound Avenue began in 2021 when the duo took to remodeling Nopi's ‘Flatter', before going on to release the thematic three tracker ‘Three Drops of Dopamine' earlier this year. With twenty-four years separating this elusive father and son duo, it seems only fitting that they unveil the biggest project of their young careers via Sound Avenue, an expansive audio travelogue appropriately titled ‘24 Years Apart'. Due for release in October, we now get a first look into the album with a three-track sampler entitled ‘Frozen'.

As the album's first showcase piece ‘Frozen' finds about:river flexing their free thinking muscles with evolving, emotional and hypnotizing structures, allowing the listener to relish in the groove, building anticipation towards an array of colourful keys and warm atmospheric phrasing. Continuing to diversify their portfolio, ‘Snowing Inside' lands as the collection's second showcase piece and finds the duo at the peak of their creative powers, juxtaposing soulful instrumentation over exotic drum arrangements for a heartfelt seven-minute journey. Beneath the hopeful qualities of ‘Snowing Inside' lies the enchanted realities of 'Dropped', a swing-heavy drawl where Mediterranean motifs marry buoyant acid lines and creamy tones for a third and final prelude to the October release of '24 Years Apart'.
