Was an honour to be asked to do the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. I grew up listening to the Essential Mix and still can’t quite believe I got to do my own. The basic idea was to make a soundtrack of my life over the past 20 years and weave it all into some kind of journey. Didn’t see myself mixing MJ Cole’s ‘Crazy Love’ with a Chick Corea record but it happened… and The Streets ‘Has It Come To This?’ with Arkist’s ‘Fill Your Coffee.’ That Artkist tune was the song that made me want to start producing - I used to play it on repeat whilst living in Brighton in 2011 - still sounds fresh in 2024 I think. I ended the mix with a new song of mine called Ojai. Big thank you to Pete Tong and Radio 1 for having me. Enjoy!
