Episode 32 - Silver Fox Thad O

With the NFL season kicking off, we decided to dedicate an episode to America's favorite and most controversial pastime, football.  The elephant in the room was should we be watching the NFL or boycotting in support of Colin Kaepernick (01:00).  After this short debate, we revisited Michael Bennett’s incident in Las Vegas (09:00), its fallout, and if the Bennett brothers or Meek Mill give more money to their mother (26:00).  We then did a word association game where we said which word comes to mind when we name various NFL players like Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Odell Beckham, etc (33:00).  The podcast ended with a discussion about DACA (58:00) and the unveiling of Aldo’s new podcast short, Nothing NICE To Say (1:08:00).

Boycott The NFL?

Hopefully we’ve given everyone enough time to watch Insecure: Season 2, but if not #SpoilerAlert.  CAP and Ashley came in to chop it up with Aldo NICE about all things going down in the first week of October.  We began by discussing Cam Newton’s dismissive comments to the female reporter (02:00) and Shannon Sharpe’s Black & Mild fetish (08:00) before jumping into the show review.  We chose to focus on our favorite parts of Insecure from the guy’s perspective: navigating the tough terrain of a new break-up (11:00), how to exist simultaneously in a white work environment and a black home environment (21:00), the concept of an open relationship (31:00), the Lawrence three-way (37:00), and who we are rooting for to “win” (43:00).
