She is part of @g-edit, a flinta*-collective touching different fields of electronic sounds from bass music to house and  in between with a focus on feminist approaches and struggles. Naitwa also started her own collective called @nice4what and is a member of Petrola crew from Leipzig. Furthermore she's involved in the regular event series DRIVE at Institut fuer Zukunft. In her mixes she plays a broad variety of house music – from tech, prog, 90s to early 2000s and nu skool breaky stuff to dub and detroit inspired sounds. For this week’s DETECT we welcome @bestboi.  

A rapidly increasing presence in Germany, they first came onto our radar a year ago during their determined efforts to increase FLINTA* presence in Hamburg’s club culture. 

Part of the queer, FLINTA* collective POSSY and a resident at The Golden Pudel Club, Best Boy Electric’s fight has since taken them further afar with recent bookings at Tresor and ://about blank as well as festivals across Germany. Taking efforts into their own hands they launched their own events including ‘Fine Space’ which prioritises platforming BIPOC FLINTA* artists and ‘Dream Journal’. 

For this vinyl-only mix they take a more melancholic approach to their Detroit electro influenced sound, introducing increasingly volatile, percussive elements.

Based in Bremen and as a member of ZfK collective, he tries to push things forward with other friends in that city, which - until now - doesn't really have a legally open alternative club scene with a permanent space for experiments and dance culture. 

Witchcraft thrown sunbeams and wizardish psychedelic spirals are the content in this mixtape for Galaxunity. Following a trancy vibe, leading you into a fast-forward breakbeat workout in the end.

“eva aka eves120 was born and raised in dresden, saxony but living in Leipzig for more than 3 years now. She started djing in 2017 influenced by the disco genre from her crew called palais palett. With time taste changes so does hers and she said goodbye to disco after some years. For the last years she is know for faster breaks mixed with proggy house up to electro. Since more than a year she is resident of the well known objekt klein a in Dresden after working there for years and grown up at this beautiful place”. 

Maybe I am wrong but when I started djing 6 or 7 years ago it feels like that was the time things started to change a bit? Because before I had one of my first gigs a guy I didn’t really know that well came to me and said ‘u are djing? That’s cool because I am looking for a female DJ for my line up’. He never heard anything that I played. At that time I was just happy and honored that someone even ask me to play but when I think about this today it feels weird. Cause that was not the last time I’ve heard that kind of sentences. Don’t get me wrong, mixed line ups are important and we are definitely on a good way but in my opinion music should always be the priority. So listen to female DJs and book them if u like their music, not the other way around. Besides this I have to say for now I feel very comfortable as a female DJ in this business, but especially support from other flintas feels always great. So don’t stop supporting each other :-)

Giraffi Dog is a unique breed that combines spiritual music with ecstatic energies. Making a first appearance on Doom Chakra Tapes it got introduced to a wider audience with an EP on Aiwo in 2017. During the same summer the guests of Warning at ://about blank have been able to enjoy the first ever Giraffi Dog live experience. This year the Dog will return to the garden and we can hardly wait for it.

This set got recorded live at Watergate Club during the Bewegungsfreiheit x Staub joint venture taking place Sunday 11th of March 2018
