Seeing the interstate circuit beginning to turn in Melbourne means the return of one of Sydney’s stalwart DJs, IV Drip. Ivy is radio host (Nomad Radio), events organiser (Headroom), expert mix curator (NTS, Animalia) and critical fixture in the Nectar family. Inherent to being part of the Nectar crew, is their commitment movement toward gender equality in the electronic music community. Ivy’s commitment to her community shines both on and off the stage - always tinkering away and bringing multiple creative projects to life, she’s undoubtedly drawn to creating spaces that keep Sydney’s nightlight alive. Beyond her backstage prowess, Ivy and IV Drip’s mixes have always left me floored. Luckily her in demand skills as a DJ and artist have landed her an ongoing slot on Nomad radio, where she has recently transitioned from presenting her show ‘Thanks for Sharing’ to newly founded ‘Home Time’ where she explores Australian music bounded by no sound. Ivy joins me for IWD X 2 Years Passing Notes, and also shared some thoughts with me over at https://passingnotes.radio.

For time now, Ivy's been sending mixes on platforms like Pi pi pi, animalia, vortex, neurocrank, and more.
These are some of my fav series online and trust that Ivy's producing A++ results with always dynamic and headspinnin twists. Case in point here, is Ivy's recent mix at Techworld festival. It's 3 hours of deep dives, rockin' drums, and freaky cuts up on SC for your listening pleasures. Ivy also boosts a series of her own titled Thanks for sharing featuring local artists like Freda, Vonikus, lizzynice and more.

Tonight's edition includes a half hour from a recent wigwam show with ricky & alba followed by broken rhythms and spiralling melodies from Ivy.

Shimmering dubby perfection from Philly.

Excited to welcome one of the best around to the series, Philadelphia-based DJ and producer Opheliaxz. As well as being one of the finest DJs around, Kelsey has been teasing tracks on soundcloud and various compilations for the past few years. In April, she released 11/11 on Bandcamp, a collection of incredible dubby ambient works spanning from 2020 to 2022. If you haven’t checked it out already, you absolutely need to. 

Kelsey’s mix is a homage to her time in Berlin when she played at Kwia. “I thought it would be fun to rummage through my music folder I made to play live there a few months back at Kwia and squish in an additional bit of tracks I vibe with.” You all know this one is going to be good. Enjoy.

Theory Therapy 53: Opheliaxz

We first heard of Doc Jay in the infamous Libramix series where his contributions have been and still are constantly on repeat. He has not only created a wonderful mix series (Doc Jay's Inn) during lockdown, but Julius is also a very talented painter and overall visual artist. Hailing from Stockholm, Doc Jay blesses us with "a 2h 20min selection built by 100% Swedish music from the late 80s and 90s (or 97,6 % to be exact, as I accidently threw in a brittish track hehe...)" - in his own words. Well then... cheers <3
