In the past the Cosmo Klein from Berlin has dedicated himself to different genres of music such as Pop, House Music, Soul, Jazz & Funk. Numerous hits like "Beautiful Lie", "Feel Alive", "All I ever need" or the Duet with German singer Maya Saban have made Cosmo Klein one of the few internationally successful music exports from Germany.

​Being a huge fan of camping vans, Cosmo recorded some of the best Jazz musicians in the game like Cory Wong from Vulfpeck, Benny Greb, Hanno Busch, Claus Fischer, Peter Weniger, Jakob Manz, Felix Lehrmann, Jost Nickel and yes, many more in his 1988 Hymer Camper Studio.

​„I just don´t like studios. As a child I always wanted to play outside and I guess it´s still the same way. I just can´t stand to sit in front of a computer and go to the same workspace everyday. I can´t see anything inspirational about that. Recording musicians in different sceneries all around Germany was beautiful and the fact that I stick to the same instrumentation on every track glues the pieces together. DJ Resoul, Streetsoul Tribute Mix! DJ Resoul: "I grew up with the Hip Hop Sound of the 80'is. In 1989 British military Radio started the weekly BFBS Dance Show in Berlin, presented by Tim Westwood. It was an incredible Mix of Hip Hop, Swingbeat, 70's Rare Grooves an new British Soul. It was my strongest musical influence at the time. In the early 90ies I saw concerts of Incognito, The Brand New Heavies, Raw Stylus und many more in Berlin and also talked to a young UK DJ in 1990 by the name of Gilles Peterson, who played the fresh Talkin Loud sound from the turntables. This is my tribute live mix with the sound of that era to give you a taste of the timeless positive vibe of the time. Feel the Vibe! "

During the Corona months in 2020-2021 I came up with the idea to ask Mop Mop if I could release some newer more electronic remixes on my very own label Best's Friends Music. I Die is the first release from The Natural Curve on the Best’s Friends Music label.

When the track was posted on Soundcloud, as a demo a few years ago, it caught the ear of legendary producer Niles Rodgers who simply tweeted: “That’s an awesome song!”

The tune has been revamped and updated by the Natural Curve, with the addition of guitar, percussion, and a funky-assed bass line.

I Die features the extraordinary vocal talents of the mighty Polly Gibbons; a Ronnie Scott’s and Birdland Jazz Club regular, with fans on both sides of the Atlantic. She has collaborated with the Natural Curve on several tracks.

I Die is a typical Natural Curve track: a groovy collaboration with friends and musicians; a catchy ear-worm, packed with live performance, soul, funk, and character.

The Natural Curve repertoire is diverse, with downbeat, nujazz, d&b, house, and funk all featuring in the portfolio. The one thing that ties them all together: the groove. It has to be groovy. ‘All my best friends are bass players…’

Starting his career spinning records in the nineties, Larse very quickly made a
Name for himself in Germany. Bagging a residency with his first DJ gig at the Tanzcafe
In his hometown of Dortmund, his skills on the decks caught the attention of 1LIVE Radio
(Europe’s biggest youth radio station and Germany’s equivalent to BBC Radio One) who gave
Him his own show. Larse hosted 1LIVE „Klubbing“ alongside Mike Litt for over 15 years, earning
him a nomination for the German Dance Award, many loyal followers well as national and
International bookings along the way.
But it was Larse’s move into producing that really kicked things off. His 2011 release ‚The More I
Want‘ was picked by big names such as Jamie Jones and Tale of Us became a huge hit with Ibiza
clubbers. His first EP ‚Nightshift‘ on Noir Music followed shortly awards and within a few months
Larse reached the coveted number one spot of the all important Beatport Top 100 for the first
time with ‚So Long‘, also released on Noir Music.
His timeless remix for legendary Soul & Gospel singer Candi Staton, released on Defected
Records reached the Beatport number one spot again and brought him his first Gold Record in
Belgium. Intensive touring ensued with gigs at the world’s top clubs including Fabric/ London,
Sankeys/ Manchester, Polar Lounge/ NYC and Booom/ Ibiza to name only a few.
Now Larse is by no means resting on his laurels. He has already followed up with some high
profile remixes on Exploited, Peppermint Jam, Glitterbox, Eskimo Recordings, Capitol Records
and many more. With over 15 Mio plays in total, 130k monthly listeners he also has reached a
solid base on Spotify.
In 2020 Larse started the Year with the Italo-like „We Were Young“ on Musumeci’s Multinotes
Imprint, his new EP featuring Charlie Sputnik on Peppermint Jam and Remixes for Tender Games,
Orbital Drum System and a special Remix Treatment for Jazzanova coming in November.

Rainer Trüby embraces the soul: "To know you, is to love you”. These verses, sung by Syreeta in Stevie Wonders song of the same name, are very well known. In 2008, Rainer Trüby and Danilo Plessow, better known under his MCDE moniker, fit them into a house-chassis layer. A funky bassline and their trademark raw drums push the track forward. Warm synthesizers and a spherical chord melody shyly flirt with each other in the background. A club hit in the year of its release, and its impact on a dancefloor can still be felt today.

 

"When I'm down and feelin 'sad, you always comfort me" sings Syreeta. This is what best describes Rainer Trüby as a DJ. Anyone who attended his club night “Root Down” in Freiburg – he has been running it for over 20 years now – knows: Rainer Trüby always comforts his audience and makes the dancers smile. For years, Rainer Trüby has focused on downbeat, Nujazz, drum’n’bass, broken beats and all kind of soul and disco from US-american, british and brazilian bands, singers and producers. Now he professionally brings together this knowledge of dance music’s roots with House and soulful Techno. Or Salsa and cheesy Pop songs, so-called guilty pleasure records, provided that the night and his audience are of the same mind.

 

As a DJ, Rainer Trüby has been and still is a regular at festivals like Worldwide Festival, founded and curated by Gilles Peterson. Clubs as Watergate or Panoramabar in Berlin trust in his musical repertoire. His main characteristic, regardless of being a DJ or working together with producers like Danilo Plessow aka MCDE ("Rainer Trueby"), Corrado Bucci ("Truccy") and Mario "Marlow" Weise ("Marlow & Trueby"), is: He embraces the soul.

DJ Resoul pays tribute to one of Berlin most important club-nights of the last 20 years: Jazzanova's residency night Kaleidoskop. For this mix he chose tunes that where played there and that era (around 2000). Resoul was a regular dancing guest and an occasional dj there.

The long-running party's roots reach back to 1999, with its beginnings at Berlin's famed WMF club. The multi-membered Jazzanova collective have helmed the nights, that attracted international guests such as Louie Vega, Gilles Peterson, Carl Craig, Maurice Fulton, Phil Asher, Dego, Questlove, Mr. Scruff and LTJ Bukem over the years.The club-nite showcased the sounds of hip-hop, house, disco, jazz and boogie that Jazzanova are renowned for championing in techno-friendly Berlin.
