The tracks in this long-format were first created for the stage, in response to a modular live commissioned by Astropolis festival (with two lives in summer 2016 and winter 2017). Maxime Dangles then developed new songs and delivered powerful, intense techno sets. In spring 2017, he signed an electronica version for the program Séquences (Culturebox / Radio France). For this new interpretation, the producer focused on the melodies at the heart of the songs.

Maxime Dangles then rearranged and reworked the compositions to record them and began to imagine a live transposition with two musicians: Thibault Morel (piano) and Tommy Rizzitelli (drums). The luminous interventions of the two instrumentalists, initially planned for the live, were finally added to the pieces imagined in solo by the producer with his synths and his machines. It is these final versions that today form the Chanfleury album, with compositions that combine the dimension of the live, a narrative force and a sweet intensity.

Chanfleury is the name of a district of Bourg-lès-Valence where Maxime Dangles lived for ten years during his childhood. Each title on the album recalls those years with titles evoking a person (Gigi), cities (Vélizy, Clamart, Fontenay, Châtillon-Montrouge), places (Robinson, Scarron, La Coulée Verte, Cascades, Parc de Sceaux), a newspaper (Pariscope). The producer approaches all these childhood memories with a sweet melancholy in the melodies and an emotional richness in the arrangements and textures of these dreamy compositions. The album ends with L'Oiseau Rose, a song for which Maxime Dangles wrote the melody with his daughter Alice's ukulele (before transposing this melody to the synth). The children's universe can also be found in the album cover, specially created by André Bucci, a Brazilian artist living in Italy.

Pop melancholy, intricate arrangements, ingenuity in alternating roaring ardor and calm climates, pianistic dimension, elaborate rhythms, Maxime Dangles develops in his album a dazzling setting in sounds which brings him closer to the worlds of Apparat, Clark, Jon Hopkins or Burial.

With Chanfleury, Maxime Dangles offers himself an assumed turn towards electronica and offers a sound journey in twelve pieces - and 51 minutes - that he will transpose on stage with the musicians Thibault Morel (piano) and Tommy Rizzitelli (drums) . This new live will be available from fall 2021.

After four technically and aesthetically impressive salvos of eclectic electronics, the 5-year anniversary compilation from Stroboscopic Artefacts reaches its terminus with this new release. Worrying about whether or not the series "goes out with a bang" seems unnecessary, since the series has always felt pleasingly unconventional, and thus not too concerned with the conventional act of providing listeners with a grand finale. Simply put, this high-quality 'retrospective' series has been more about challenging the S.A. constellation of artists to forge new paths than it has been about nostalgically revisiting the past, and so it's better to approach this last installment as a statement on the past informing the future. Donato Dozzy, Lucy, and the Sendai duo are the parties responsible for bringing us the final report of the series. Those already familiar with these artists' past works for S.A. will understand immediately that these artists are not all cut from the same cloth, and those who didn't know that will soon find out. As with the previous 'anniversary' records, the intent here is to synthesize significantly different sounds into a uniform or seamless listening experience, to the point where the record seems more like a genuine collaboration between the artists than a mere "sampler" record offering eclecticism for its own sake.
Donato Dozzy's entry here is very much in keeping with the spirit of his S.A. release Terzo Giorno. It is as propulsive as any of the best techno music of past decades, exhibiting a marked indifference to the inessential and a knack for smashing together percussive atoms of a thick and bombastic quality. To do so without punishing speakers completely into submission or turning everything into a fatiguing mess is more difficult than it sounds, but Dozzy is certainly up to the task here. The sole synth sequence appearing in the mix behaves like another component of the drum kit, testifying to the enthusiasm for ambiguity that this artist, label, and series of releases share.

Felix Fleer starts of the A-side by exploring his roots in classical music through implementing a grand piano into a rhythmically challenging yet hypnotic techno weapon in an seemingly effortless manner. Jonas Landwehr continues diving deeper into his fascination for airy pad sounds and unique percussion styles that are not less silky than they are warm and powerful. Rythen closes the A-side with an electrifying and stomping floorkiller. 

Under their Environ. moniker Rythen & Felix Fleer open up the B-side by revisiting the previously encountered piano theme in a more club oriented way. The last words on this release are spoken by Alderaan, one of the most promising newcomers of the currently flourishing techno scene from Buenos Aires. With 'Clarity' he delivers a tooly, yet psychedelic techno trip.

"Sagittarius S2 effect" means that in the constellation a, the star named "S2" revolves around the black hole. Due to the special influence of the gravity of the black hole, each revolution forms a different orbit. In Ma Haiping's view, this interesting astronomical phenomenon is also like the trajectory of people's lives. It is dragged by various kinds of fetters, emotions and desires, just like a black hole. The expected results may not fall on the road he expected.
Following the full-length album "Lost Frontier" released in June 2020, electronic musician Ma Haiping released the single album "Sagittarius S2 effect" at the end of the year. If "the Lost Frontier" is Ma Haiping's rebellion against his past music experience, then "S2 effect of Sagittarius" is a work returning to experimental music and techno.
As one of the most important pioneer musicians and techno producers in China, this single is full of sound design experiments. The first one "Sagittarius" starts with a sense of religious ceremony, which ignites energy agitation and depicts the unpredictable changes of the Sagittarius nebula. This single was also invited by car brand Maserati to be used for the official release soundtrack of the new Ghibli car. S2 effect is a minimal techno created with modular synthesizer. This song is the first one in the record. Black hole and Lefou, a Chinese American producer who participated in Remix before, work together again to draw a picture of the ethereal space world with the psychedelic female voice sampling.
