Sydney producer/DJ Filth Collins represents a refreshingly heavy yet melodic side of dubstep and grime. Having "Arguably one of the best names in dubstep" (Mistajam - BBC Radio 1), Filth has proven that even though his name is comical - his productions, live shows, and work-rate are nothing to laugh at. 

Learning guitar, drums, and piano from a young age has the laid the foundation for the heavily melodic sound he is renowned for today. Years of experimentation in bands led him to the conclusion that the traditional band format did not give him the versatility needed to properly put his ideas to practice, and so he turned to electronic music. 

Always attracted to the more energetic and aggressive side of music, Filth found comfort in the drum and bass scene, and constantly attended local Sydney nights to get his weekly dose of sub bass frequencies. Then one week, he was unintentionally introduced to the genre of dubstep by a warm-up DJ and he immediately knew that he had found his calling. 

Analogic Records, Crossroads Records, and Betamorph Records were quick to snap up Filth Collins' early productions. His catchy melodic sound set him apart from what was becoming an overly noisy and unimaginative scene, and his following began to grow. 

The following year was enormous for Filth Collins. 

Non-stop touring around Australia and New Zealand, frequenting clubs and festivals alike. 

DJ support from some of the biggest names in the scene like Caspa, 16Bit, Doctor P, Brown and Gammon, and Antiserum.

Constant radio play on BBC1xtra, Rinse FM, and Triple J.

Chart success with his remix of "Too Fresh - Hotel Party" reaching the top 10 in the Aria Club charts. 

Features on major compilation albums such as "Dubstep Invasion 2" (Sony/One Love), and remixes for a diverse array of artists, from award winning hip-hop producer M-Phazes, to dubstep legend Rod Azlan.

With support from some of the biggest artists in the scene and a very loyal fan base, the future looks extremely bright for Filth Collins. Highly sought after for his high energy live shows, and with forthcoming collaborations with grime legend Footsie (Newham Generals/Dirtee Stank), and a release on the UK's most promising new label "Second To None Music", Filth Collins shows no sign of slowing down in 2012.

Djing since 1996 Peter Costigan AKA Stickbubbly has been a well known name throughout the toronto underground music community for many years. Originally playing drums and guitar in live bands as a teenager, he developed the skills to write music which eventually led him to produce his own songs in 2005, and since then he has never looked back. With his electronic music roots in jungle/drum and bass, he has quickly established himself as one of the hottest Canadian producers in the scene. The recipient of the Toronto Drum and Bass Award for Best Breakthrough Producer for 2009, he is known for bringing his own vibe to dance floors worldwide. With his unique sound now dubbed the "Bubbly Sound", this diversified producer/dj now plays (and makes) various genres such as jump-up & liquid dnb, drum step and dub step. Touring Canada, and the U.S he continues to promote his releases on Direct Recordings (U.K), Betamorph (U.S), dirty digital (U.S), and Stride recordings (CAN). His next, and much anticipated EP on skeptik's Bassick recordings has been getting high rotation on radio stations across Canada and internationally. Also organizing events in and around the toronto area for the last 8 years he is 1/3 of the promotional company called The Business along with Chilton gains and Hydee. Currently he is one of the biggest underground favourites in the scene and is destined to be a legendary talent known for consistently creating original, fresh tunes for the masses.

Esoterra A.K.A. Fin Humphries/Chris Braham/Rollo Mason are 3 Dubstep/Electronic music producers from Cardiff, UK. They have released tracks with Juvenile Scum and have forthcoming e.p's with Betamorph Recordings and LU10

The three 18 year olds formed in college while applying for a music tech course when they were 16, they linked that day made a song, uploaded it to soundcloud and had their first release a few days later! Their DJ 'Rollo' plays outstanding 4 deck DJ sets compromising of the heaviest cuts and exclusives which dip into every genre. for example one moment he will play hip hop the next moment he'll be in some pounding neurofunk and then back into dubstep. They also play live with the main producer 'Fin' on the guitar/vocals, 'Chris' on synth/smapler 'Rollo'playing on decks and 'Max Nicoloi' from the band 'Here Lies The Enemy' on the drums. The future looks big for these young up and coming producers.

In an unforgiving Universe that can be lonely, dark and cold, this man’s music shines like a beacon directing would be lost souls to a brighter world, one where melodies and musicality are not forgotten.  His is a world full of light and wonder where music does not always have to signify destruction, violence, or angst. Together, AaA, born Erich Vickers, with support from Dubstep veteran badbwoy, Atom Bass, has blessed Betamorph Recordings with four fresh creations designed to reopen the minds and ears of listeners everywhere, and remind them that the dance floor is for dancing and the music is supposed to move you.  This is the “Wonder” E.P. 

 

     Throughout this exquisite series of Dubstep gems, listeners will notice that these two are not settling for the usual sounds, sequences and samples regurgitated by so many artists.  AaA’s sound is immediately recognizable by beautiful keys. Oh the keys! It is so refreshing to hear upfront Dubstep that is not one-dimensionally raspy just for filth’s sake.  For instance, in “Reality” the very first hit is a beautiful combo of air, kick, and piano that immediately draws you into the sound-scape which is rounded out by a filtered guitarish bass that walks the melody right into the beat.  From there, a nymph-like voice calls out to let her “soothe your pain” and “ease your strain” ,all the while supported in the background by those amazing keys leading us to the most amazing drop.  In “The Last Light” ,the piano solo in the intro is even more pure as it lays the key and melody foundation for the rest of the piece which all of a sudden takes off into a bouncing ball of energy with high pitched sweeps and plenty of bottom to keep faces in permanent “screw-mode”.  Without revealing too much, I’ll simply say that this E.P. combines beauty, grime, and technique to produce some of the sickest sounds the genre has seen.  Betamorph Recordings is beyond proud to represent AaA and Atom Bass as they drop the “Wonder” E.P.

Squnto is one of those rare artists that defies convention at every turn.His music will draw you in with familiarity and then smash your concept utterly.In order to attain this level of musical freedom, the artist must first understand and master convention. Then and only then, can he turn it on its head, or throw it out altogether.Betamorph Recordings is proud to be represented by such a master of audio design as Squnto and we are already excited to hear his future endeavors. On behalf of Betamorph Recordings, we proudly present The” Smash” E.P. brought to you by the clown prince of bounce, Squnto.
 
The whole E.P has a decidedly 16-bit feel to it that is epitomized in its namesake excursion, “Smash”.Full of refreshingly nostalgic but oh so clear and crisp Super Mario samples, this song jumps off the Nintendo and right into your heart.It’s clear that Squnto is toying with us as the song blips and sputters along over incredibly tight drums and organ-like synth stabs.He lets “Smash” breathe in the later minutes as the song takes on a more legato feel, which says to the listener, “I can make this sound anyway I want”.“Smash’s” production is absolutely pristine and deliberate, yet it’s hilariously whimsical, proving that Squnto knows what you expect to hear, and has absolutely no intention of letting you off that easily.
 
“Sycamore” takes us to a twisted candy land of bass where Squnto reigns on high.Here, the air is haunted by the voices of a choir which sings praises to their king, and all the while, an ominous wind blows foretellingof war and destruction on the horizon.Just then, when all is quiet, all hell breaks loose as Squnto releases the full force of his bass cannon, which decimates the dance floor with a barrage of deadly sweet ammunition.Morphing from quick fire to long bursts, this track is a shape shifter that never reveals its true nature until the very end.Here we see “Sycamore” transform one last time into a 4-on-the-floor, fidget-step banger that stomps right along to the end of the track.
 
A hauntingly sweet xylophone melody joins with a helpful little bongo and some short blippy tones to build a pulsating rhythm. That group picks up some beefy strings that take the little melody and turn it into something serious.Two fat brothers, Kick and Snare join the party from the background and now the little melody is a full blown orchestra.This is how clean Squnto’s production is on “Tyranesaur”. The listener can pick out every single instrument and relish in the way it combines with the other elements to achieve the bigger effect.Although the bass takes the lead, the orchestral strings are what glue the whole piece together and give it its class.

I mean seriously, I just heard some of the worst "Dubstep" I've ever heard and this dude or dudes have over 2000 followers. Some of our favorites include Tim Ismag’s “X-Men”, D-Jahsta’s “Slug Bass”, Fonik’s “Pain Game”, and “London Riots” from Rednek.  All in all we’ve included 31 top-notch pieces so we know there will be something for everyone, and plenty of it.  We’ve made it available through all quality digital download avenues including our own website, so we know that it’s accessible to every human being that can get to a computer. 

Finally, and of the utmost importance,  every dollar or two that you would pay for each track goes toward our account with the Haitian Health Foundation http://www.haitianhealthfoundation.org/index.php/programs/development-projects/ .  In the past, we have made our contributions through Americares, but this time we wanted to use a group that was more specifically oriented in Haiti, so that we will be able to track our contribution and know exactly who it goes to and how it benefits them.  With this particular foundation we are able to finance 3 things that will literally make and entire family live better for years to come.  We will contribute a goat, an out-house style enclosed bathroom, and an entire house built from concrete with a tin roof and a finished floor.  These items will significantly improve a families quality of life almost immediately.  Disease, famine, and poverty, decimate the population each year.  For a Haitian family, a goat means income from selling milk, and meat;  not to mention the pride and emotional satisfaction that comes from raising living things.  Living in the U.S.A., many of us are unaware that more people in the world live without any form of proper waste removal facility, than do.  Giving a family a real toilet will dramatically decrease their susceptibility to disease and bacterial infection, added to that, is the protection of the enclosed home which will keep out rodents, insects, predators, and the elements, which are all killers to a family that sleeps on the ground in ramshackle huts.  

We do this in the spirit of oneness, brotherhood, and duty.  In 2012 we pledge to make internal changes that will increase our outward flow of energy to the coffers of humanity’s well-being.  We will grow as a company and as individuals, because of our efforts, to contribute to that which saves us all.

Fonik (Rob Mackie) is an upcoming electro producer/DJ from Aberdeen, Scotland. Highly influenced by the likes of Skrillex, Zomboy, Dillon Francis, Nero (to name a few), Fonik blends a mix of both melodic and heavy bass music. He began producing electro back in January 2011, and since then has released a number of remixes, and has very recently released his debut ep ‘Altered Dimensions’ on American Dubstep label ‘Betamorph Records’.

2009 was the birth year for interdimensional label Betamorph Recordings. To our friends in China it may have been the year of the Ox, but in the Dubstep calendar it was the year of the ALIEN. Growing from the bass heavy fruit of veteran DJ's and producers Dylan James (aka Deej) and  Chris McCahill (aka Megatron), Betamorph has been pummeling the scene with a twisted series of epic soundscapes and dirty symphonies. Nominated in the Best New Label category of the Dubstep Forum Awards in 2009, Betamorph is now ready to conquer the world with their unparalleled brand of subterranean sci-fi beats.
Taking the visceral edge of Deej’s roots in the early nineties Los Angeles rave scene and combining it with Megatron’s seminal graphic imagery, visions of a galactic future have helped Betamorph to create a rare coalition between art and music. The science fiction imagery synonymous with every Betamorph release is symbolic of the ethos that Dubstep’s lack of boundaries epitomize the innovation capable in a digital age.
