Arcane

This is another preview made with my new AY³ engine for the Amstrad/Schneider CPC. The engine can play 3 independent wave forms at once, kind of simulating SID sound chip. This example uses sawtooth on all channels (earlier I wrote "square waves with sweeping duty cycles (the classic "SID effect" plus sine ..", which relates to anther preview which I will upload soon). Recorded directly from a real CPC 6128, no processing other than normalization was applied.

I have been playing around again. This is a tiny preview of some sounds my 4-channel 1-bit engine (Betalicious Buzzer) is able to produce. Some nice beating effect (I used to call it sweeping because that's what it sound like to me) with different combinations of envelope generator shape for high/low .. Sounds nice, so I thought I'd share it. Enjoy (wifes and gfs will..!)

4bit - Sweeping - Demo

This one was made with a 6 channel version of my 1-bit engine where the bass sound was overdubbed 3 times (each time slightly detuned) and the lead was overdubbed once, resulting in some nice beating/sweeping effects. No tone generators were harmed during production, all you hear is the envelope generator being abused.

My cover of an Amiga cover of this 70s classic pop song by The Rubettes, so cheesy but man do I love this song! The Amiga version was the cover artists own take on the song and as I did not remember the original at the time I covered it on the CPC, it's even less close to the original.

A tune I wrote on the CPC back in the 90s using Soundtrakker. I guess it was inspired by some C64 tune I liked to listen to at that time. This track here uses my SID emulation engine, consisting of 3 virtual SID channels: one saw-tooth wave and two square-wave with varying duty cycle.

I like turtles. And computer and video games music, mainly oldskool 8 bit - Amstrad CPC, C64, but also Atari ST, Amiga and chiptunes in general.
Plus a lot lot more.. I made tunes on the Amstrad CPC from '91 to '95 using my own music tool called Soundtrakker. "Did chiptunes before it was mainstream." (borrowed from n1k-o)
