Strength in unity is what is shown here by the Steyoyoke crew, as they follow up the success of Family Affair Vol.1 with another bundle of tracks that warrant their passion for making top notch house music. Family Affair Vol.2 features 7 remixes from the Steyoyoke artists on some of the labels most popular originals to have been released over the last few months.

The first remix pairs two of the labels most accomplished artists together. Dahu leaves Soul Button’s enigmatic ‘Come To Me’ hypnotised by a powerful bassline. Teasing hi-hats and charged synth work that sways from left to right starts the Steyoyoke Family Affair show with a bang.

Soul Button adds purpose and drive to Florian Rietze’s downtempo treasure ‘Treibholz’. A delicately balanced original keeps its subtle undertones of desolation, but finds meaning with a progressive and ever giving groove. Haunting vocals by BLANCAh are introduced to add to the texture.

Rising with grace and ease, ‘Needing You’ is shot high into the stratosphere by Sasch. A rousing remix that is full to the brim with heart and emotion, sees tidy synth work washing over an alluring analog groove as persistent vocal stabs echo sentiment.

Sasch follows up again with another endearing remix, this time at the hands MPathy’s ‘Serena’. Using playful percussion samples that frivolously dashes between a rolling 4/4 beat, Sasch builds this remix into a track that puts the heat onto any dancefloor.

An eerie remix of Sasch’s ‘Hearts & Minds’ comes courtesy of MPathy. A persistent beat is locked down and provoked by rushing synths that swarm around a melting pot of eccentric wind instrument sounds.

Florian Rietze contrasts the reflective and dreamy nature of ‘The Keepers’ with a heavy bassline and sharpened off-beat cymbals to shape a direction of intent. Florian Rietze produces an accomplished remix on one of Steyoyoke’s most successful releases.

Soul Button whips up a fierce remix of ‘Dynamo’, as he sets alight this subdued love affair. A strong kick drum accompanied by rising and falling synth work helps move the track with urgency as it builds through the phases.

In the blink of an eye Steyoyoke finds itself approaching its second birthday. A lot has changed since the label first emerged on the scene and tremendous strides have been taken in becoming a label to reckoned with on the scene. In mark of such efforts the label has put together its second Anniversary EP, featuring four remixes from four top artists on some of the labels highlights of the last year.

‘Play Again’ was the title track and seducer of Soul Button’s engaging EP release earlier last year. Pete Oak’s remix of this gritty affair carries the same devilish charm and attitude as the original but with an added pinch. Gravitating around those, Pete Oaks remix packs a punch with couple of heavy drops.

Patrick Podage takes aim next with a well balanced remix of Florian Rietze’s ‘Treibholz’. A thunderous bassline surges this downtempo treasure into life, sending the elements scattering across a progressive and steady groove. Contrasting strings keep the raw emotion within this dreamy landscape.

Brazilian pair Flow & Zeo take a strong hand to Soul Button and Sasch’s collaborative work ‘Little People’. What was once a track that held a delicate touch, now holds charge as it moves with purpose and alarm. Rising and falling with precision, Flow & Zeo produce a rollercoaster of a remix.

Wrapping things up is Stevie R and Ian Mckenzie’s remix of MPathy’s provocative ‘I’m Yours’. Emerging slowly out the blocks, the remix builds to become the eccentric jewel in the crown. Notes that appear drunk as they dance between a steady groove make this a quirky adventure for the ears. Maintaining the same enticing vocals and original tribal percussion help keep the heat.

All tracks will be available on vinyl from the 14th of February and in digital on the 10th of March with the additional Pete Oak dub remix of ‘Play Again’. The 14th of March will see the label hitting Ritter Butzke to celebrate their second birthday coinciding with the release of the Anniversary EP. All featuring artists will be playing their part in showing that there is still plenty more to come from Steyoyoke.

Newcomers Millok & Zigelli from Montenegro debuts in the Noir Music family with this fine piece of deephouse music. Soothing groove, pads, atmospheres and a vocal that drags you deep into the track and makes you fall in love.
This was love at first listen for us and from there the track just grew bigger and better.
This release comes with great remixes by Mario Basanov + Balcazar & Sordo.

Mario Basanov is one of our favourite producers and we are honoured to finally add him to the Noir Music roster. Just as you think you heard the perfect track Mario twists and tweaks the music, creates the perfect groove and serves a dish that might even taste better. This remix is so damn well done and a perfect example of why we got nothing but love for Mr. Basanov.

We have been waiting for the perfect track to hand over to the talented Balcazar & Sordo to get them on remix duty for NM2 and boy are we happy with the choice.
This remix makes the track even more melancholic and the moody groove keeps you locked in all the way and wanting more. Please do notice the build all the way through with sub-additions being added towards the end. Clever production from the rising stars of Mexico.
