The Maiden of the Matrix is the first track Kita and Maude Vôs have written together in 7 years. Prior to their solo projects they produced music together for a number of years as a duo. Rewinding even further back, “Kita and I met on a dance floor over 10 years ago and were instantly soul bonded. She was my first real collaborator and mentored me through the beginning of my production journey. She continues to inspire me to find my voice, dig into my well of experience and to ground into what feels aligned with my soul purpose”. Kita has lived in Bali for the last 5 years, as a sound healer at the Temples of Chi. “Although life has pulled us sonically and physically in different directions, this song reflects our continued connection over the past decade”. The Maiden of the Matrix more specifically delves into unity through community especially in the chaos of the world. During these times we must continue to open our hearts, and show up meaningfully; this will be the remedy, the anchor and the expander.

Shimmering with metallic warmth, fluid melodies, and dark tension, Maude Vôs’ productions and live performances are marked by an infectious energy and multifaceted enthusiasm for creating and connecting. Channeling the organic flow of a studio wired with a panoply of hardware gear, the Los Angeles-based artist has cultivated a growing catalog of distinctive releases and remixes alongside their professional work as a sound designer and composer. As a DJ, their sparkling, psychedelic mixes are filled with lush atmospheres, whispered vocals, and synthesizer music of all genres. Vôs appears in the book Patch and Tweak with Korg (Bjooks, 2022), was recently named an artist to watch by DJ Mag, and has been featured by SPIN Magazine and Perfect Circuit. Dynamic and deeply felt, their creativity shines with an optimistic, expansive vision of mutual exchange and soul connection.

Coming from a mixture of roots made Chiara experience the feeling of simultaneously belonging everywhere yet anywhere. Though based in Bratislava, she finds her warmth of home behind the decks as Microchic. Navigating through a realm woven of artificial yet naturally flowing rhythms and balancing between raw and sleek sound, she blends together elements of electro, techno, breaks, acid, ghetto and its in-betweens. Usual set up this month, me for the first hour skirting across all things bass and UK techno, little bit of ambient/atmospheric stuff too. Had a lot of fun with this one, covering quite a lot of ground in terms of what was on my USB and playing tunes at all the wrong tempos. Sorry Dual Monitor for playing Level Up about a third as fast as you're meant to.

And then taking over for the second hour, delighted to be able to share with you an hour long mix from Berlin based, 4 person collective: Poems. Formed in 2022, they’ve recently picked up a head of steam curating their first party at Berlin’s OHM night club with Phil in the maze and Cassius Select on the billing. I was first introduced to poems via Derive – an incredible DJ in her own right, someone who can (and does!) literally play anything, all with relative ease. As a collective they're really challenging the norms of Berlin, flirting with weird UK Bass, techno and breaks all on the more experimental side of the spectrum.

Made up of German quartet derive … genus Aix … pesadj ... and dypere, they’ve come together to create a beautifully intense wormhole of a mix.
