WAIFU is a queer party in Tokyo that aims to be an intimate, safe space designed to be enjoyed by all kinds of open-minded people, regardless of gender, sexuality, race or age.

This month's guest is JLYME. Now based in Nagoya, JLYME has been active for many years starting out Tokyo as a DJ and party organizer under the moniker You Me, hosting regular house night Browny at FORESTLIMIT among other projects. She mainly plays vinyl, her style leaning towards the warmer shades of house with a distinct sense for melding raw beats together with soulful, jazzy deepness. For WAIFU this month she provides a deep and soulful 2-hour treat to listen to at any time of the day or night.

From dubstep to house and techno, Bristol-based record label Idle Hands has been shaping the sound of its city since 2009 – the year its founder, Chris Farrell, first released music by Peverelist, one of Bristol’s dubstep originators. 

The label has since gone on to garner international acclaim, featuring an impressive roster of artists such as Bruce, Shanti Celeste, Om Unit and Parris. Today, it continues to push sonic boundaries and provides open minded music-heads with twisted electronic albums from Bristol, tuned in by local artists like O$VMV$M and Rhythmic Theory.

For Carhartt WIP Radio Idle Hands mastermind Chris Farrell now has prepared a mix that mirrors the world of his label, blending older releases with more recent tunes by the likes of K-Lone, Strategy and Daisy Moon.

Kroba aka Zach Koeber has spent the better part of the last decade pushing boundaries with his group Archie Pelago.  Over the past few years, he has amassed a back catalogue of original mixes and ambient compositions, using his training as a saxophonist and clarinetist to create garden beds of sound and testing the limits of genre.

Zach will keep you guessing on The Lot Radio, presenting anything from a completely improvised live performance to choice jazz/ambient/deep electronic selections from his vinyl collection.  You can hear him every second, third, and fourth Monday from 8am-10am EST.
