The first set I ever recorded. Had spent an entire night sorting my music and wanted to see if I could put a little mix together. It ended as a first mix should, with me getting super buckled and pressing play on the wrong deck. Had heaps of fun and floated through a few different genres.

Squircle - Squircle Jerk 28th May 2022

This one is a cruisy little mix I did to play during dinner with a friend. Starting around the 75bpm mark and working into the mid 80's. I found these styles of music quite challenging to mix as there are plenty of vocals and instruments and eclectic beats. Did my best, but it's definitely a learning curve.

This was a little spontaneous mix I played at a small housewarming gathering for a friend named Zaneta Buttons. I was mixing on my laptop from the comfort of my faithful Brampton Sun lounge, without headphones, or the ability to hear my tracks coming in. I had fun although some of the mixes are a little sketchy for this reason.

Squircle - Tijuana Cartel/Blossom Festival Practice Set 2024

Hi Everybody! Hi Dr Nick!

I loved the thought around this set. I spent about 12hrs ripping and editing 39 samples from the 5 episodes that the party was based on. I'd never used samples in a set before and didn't get a chance to practice before playing.

Anyway, i had fun pushing all the buttons. every time a nice section of track came on or a beautiful person walked across the dancefloor, I got to hit the Me Rikey Sample or a crazy laugh. 

For the last 3 weeks, we've been flat out getting ready to go overseas for a couple of months, and i was not prepared for this set at all. Was even trying to adjust the gain on all my samples on the drive up, so I'm hoping when I'm home I'll have a better quality version of this mix to release and some new gigs to play.
