Newcastle is home to some of Australia’s most stunning beaches, but it is also the world’s largest coal export port. Growing up in the Hunter Valley, going to the beach meant counting the coal ships looming on the horizon, a fixture of the landscape. This work captures that unsettling juxtaposition of picturesque beaches to the circulation of damaging fossil fuels.

Collaborative pianist, teacher, composer. Classical, jazz, contemporary, anything that I enjoy playing.

I have been a pianist since childhood, I took piano lessons up to Grade 10 Royal Conservatory level. My piano was my first purchase when I moved into my first apartment. I still have that piano and had it refurbished a few years ago. My favourite classical composers are Bach and Debussy. For the past few years I have been studying jazz piano. I am the music director of Knox United Church in Edwards, Ontario.
