Deep Summer (Part 18)

Supperclub Saturday w/ THEE MIKE B (July 5, 2025)

I am beyond excited to present to you the recording of my 5.5 closing sunrise DJ set for the Calling All Magical People (@camp-festival) 2025 set. 

This was a meaningful, special one, celebrating the 4th of July in a time of the utmost turmoil in America and in the world. I knew my commentary about America in the 4th of July had to be bold this year, and I risked killing a dance floor in making a statement about waking up to salvage democracy in the face of the rising and nascent facism taking root in the USA.

I hope you enjoy this journey, and I thank the dancers for being patience with me as I walk off stage due to technical difficulties, it took us amount to get started but we got there. 

Special thanks to @thezoharportal for collaborating with me in reading Mary Oliver’s poem “The Journey” for the intro track to acknowledge the collective grieving of relationships ending, and for the beautiful messaging that I was able to sprinkle with her poetic, mystical voice through the set.

My heartfelt thank you to the CAMP team and Therapy sound for believing in my vision and to Mick and Michael Z for setting up the tarp and the flag and everything else as we were battling the rains and broken CDJ’s - this truly was a collective odyssey into the new day of a new America.
