This is my djent / metal cover of Sleep Token's "DYWTYLM" using vocals from the masked frontman himself - Vessel!

To say "Take Me Back to Eden" was a banger of an album would be an understatement, and this is one song that stood out to me from the rest. At first I thought it was a strange sudden shift compared to the other songs, but at the same time part of the reason I love these guys is cause of the diversity they bring. And boy I played this song on repeat probably a hundred times! #101 is when I stopped and said "wait... what would this sound like if it was super heavy?" - that's when I got to work!

Hope you guys enjoy this re-imagining of the song! Of course, the vocals are acapella from the original song - I do not own any rights to said acapella, lyrics, or original composition by Sleep Token.

The idea behind the song: a man is light years away from his true love and on a journey through the cosmos to reunite with her on their home world. The beginning holds no punches, cause there's no time to waste - he's starting up his ship, getting ready to embark on his quest. Throughout his journey he reminisces on sweet memories, flies by spectacular worlds, maneuvers through dangerous debris fields. The route home is long and perilous, but to him she's worth the risks. By the end he's made it to his destination and reunites with her on the shores of serenity.

Happy Holidays, folks! Here's my Christmas gift to you - an all new song I made with my new ESP LTD TE-1000 guitar.

This song started as a short demo to try out the new axe and hear how it sounds, but I couldn't help myself and expanded on it into a full track. I dubbed it "Didn't See That Coming!" cause it's a different style from what I typically write, and because of the ending. >:)

This guitar is so, SO good by the way! Telecaster style swamp ash body, roasted maple fretboard, Seymour Duncan pickups (which have a split coil feature for even more tone options). Very happy with the purchase, highly recommend for intermediate players looking for a really solid instrument!

If you're looking for a new show to watch with some of the best action, characters, drama, and martial arts choreography ever seen on film - and based on writings by Bruce Lee - Warrior is an absolute must-watch! It's my absolute favorite show to date and so of course I had to put my spin on the theme song. Hope y'all enjoy and check out the show on Netflix, they need and deserve the ratings to get S4 greenlit!

Finally getting back into doing VGM covers, starting with this song from Final Fantasy VII! I've been playing through the FF7: Remake in preparation for Rebirth, and I'm quite enjoying it. This was one of the songs from the remake and OG that got stuck in my head as I paraded through the streets of the Sector 5 Slums. So of course I had to give it the Beyond Our Eyes treatment!

Under the Rotting Pizza (from Final Fantasy VII)

The beginning riff to this song had been stuck in my head for quite a while, but now I've finally got it worked into a song that's satisfyingly heavy! I was very much inspired by bands like Spiritbox and Dead Crown while writing the instrumental and with the spoken word voice effects.

Lyrically I wear my heart on my sleeves. I write about some intense mental struggles with self worth and battling with inner demons; I make comparisons of the brain to a "maze" and a "black cage" that I get dragged further and further into.

Hope you all enjoy this one and for any of those also struggling / wrestling inner demons - keep up the fight! The world is better with you in it! <3

This is one of the first tones I've configured with the POD HD 500X, using previous experience from working with the POD UX-2 and POD Farm 2.5. When it comes to getting that "djenty" tone, I've found that the key to great clarity on the low end is to incorporate a Wah pedal effect in the chain, specifically the "colorful" mode for this tone.

Cranked out a new song during the crazy weather rolling through East Texas! It actually started as another mix test, but then I really started getting into it. I consider it more of an "easy listening" metal track by my standards - most of my other music is more technical, but I think it's easy to forget that simplicity can be a beautiful thing.
