Every new synth wave track in this episode had me out of my seat dancing around!

Indeed, very surprised to hear Blind Guardian in Beyond Synth podcast! And happy to listen to you guys nerding out about BG, Rhapsody and Christopher Lee!

After hearing the list of movies from 1997, I have to say, that was quite a remarkable year for movies.  I remember seeing virtually everything you mentioned.  And yet, despite the creativity of the movies released that year, the music of 1997 still royally sucked.  I feel like the 90's was the beginning of when "artists" (and I use the term loosely) basically took previously good music, sampled it as their entire background music and then either sang or rapped over top of it.  And that trend has been going on ever since.  So could we argue that the 90's literally marked the end of when musicians still actually tried to be creative (or rather the beginning of when they stopped trying to be creative)?

By the way, I absolutely love these 90's review episodes Andy.  Yourself, Mike, Marko and Florence are the kind of people I'd invite over for dinner and drinks just to have an entire evening of shooting the shit like you do on these episodes.  Way too much fun !!
