The irony is, that's not ChatGPT - the large language model fundamentally can't do math because it's just predicting what's coming next. Math is something they added to it - an special exception. There's whole teams of people behind the system to add these special rules, which makes the whole thing a "mechanical Turk" - a fake AI of sorts.
