On the same page as Andy, Disc Drive is killing me

The line about getting lucky when writing music is so spot on.  I feel the exact same way every time I finish a song.  It's good to know the pros in the scene go through the same thing!

What's the name of the song at about 25 minutes in?

It actually was Phil Collins. It's the Listening Mic on the old SSL console so the talent could talk back to the engineer. And it was heavily compressed because it was a mic located in the ceiling. That way could could hear anyone in the booth regardless of location. Once while the mic was activated, Phil started playing the drums and the engineer went 'OH MY GOD! THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!" So he opened the board and wired the mic so you could record it's output. And voila, the heavily compressed/gated drum sound of the 80's was born. You can get a free VST from Solid State Logic now that emulates it.

Just have to say this is one of my favorite BS episodes!  SK is a great guest but the topics discussed are excellent
