" Ba-by is a 5 tracks ep of experimental yet clubby music. I love the infinite possibilities of experimental music, and I love to dance on footwork and ghetto music. Since a few years I tried to merge those two influences. It wasn’t easy because of the opposition of the process; ghetto house music and footwork are often based on raw sounds, and experimental music is based on the use of a lot of effects. I progressively reached a satisfying balance between cold, technological and surgical sound design, bouncy rhythms and round, warm sub frequencies. I have hundreds of tracks now, those are the first ones. "

JUDAAH CHROME MIX PART 1

After diversifying with the release of a couple of tapes over the last few years, BFDM’s little sis — Homemade Soundsystem — returns to what it knows what to do best: a two-track bass-heavy dancehall 7 inch. This one is courtesy of Parisian producer Krikor, who was already behind the outfit’s first release back in 2019. The well named Captivation Riddim starts off as a slow-but-rough compelling tune with haunting and trippy vocal samples creating an adequately driving mood. On the flip, Liberation Riddim is a percussive chopped-up party starter, ideal for changing gears with multiple BPM shifts and breaks throughout the track.
