ਸਮਰ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਸੀਸ ਤੋ ਪੈ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੈ ॥ ਮਹਾਂ ਭੂਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਔਤਰੈ ਰਾਜ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
[The one] who, in war, places his head before You. [They shall become] a great King and in the next life will attain a Kingdom as well.

ਮਹਾਂ ਭਾਵ ਸੋਂ ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ਤੋਰ ਪੂਜੰ ॥ ਸਮਰ ਜੀਤ ਕੈ ਸੂਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਅਦੂਜੰ ॥
With great love those who worship You ! Those warriors achieve victory on the battle field and get liberated !

ਤੁਮੈ ਪੂਜਹੈਂ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਨੈਤ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥ ਮਹਾਂ ਖੜਗਧਾਰੀ ਮਹਾਂ ਤੇਜ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
The Great Kshtriya warriors, in their uniform, worship you. [You are] the Great Sword-bearer and the ferocious Shastradhari [weapon-bearer] Warrior !

ਪੜ੍ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਅਸਤ੍ਰੋਤ ਯਾ ਕੋ ॥ ਕਰੈ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕਾਲੀ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਤਾ ਕੋ ॥
Whosoever repeats this Astotar (with love) in the early morning, Rudra [Shiv Ji] and Kali both salute you !

ਰੁਧਰ ਮੱਜਨੀ ਬਿੰਜਨੀ ਹੈ ਸਗੌਤੀ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਜੈ ਸਦਾ ਜੈ ਸਦਾ ਜੈ ਭਗੌਤੀ ॥
[Salutations to the] one bathed in blood! Oh flesh eating one ! Your victory is eternal ! Your victory is eternal ! Your victory is eternal oh Bhagauti !

ਸਦਾ ਦਾਹਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਦਾਨ ਦੀਜੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਰੱਖ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
Always bless your servant with the blessing of being in their right hand ! The King Guru Gobind [Singh] keeps Your presence !

ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥
ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤਜਿ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਊ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
That person who has renounced the attachment to the five sins has his honour protected by the Guru and Highest Master.

ਸਜੈ ਜੋ ਦੁਮਾਲਾ ਛੁਟੈ ਖੂਬ ਫਰਰਾ ॥ ਅਜਬ ਸੋਹੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਖੰਡੇ ਤੋੜੇ ਵਾਲਾ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਫਤਿਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਚਲੈ ਗੋ ਤੋਰ ਜੈਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਐਸਾ ਮੁਖ ਸੇ ਅਲਾਇਆ ॥
The double layered turban decked with a wonderful Khanda and steel wire, looks so graceful on your face, with protruding swaying piece in the crown's middle, said Guru Gobind Singh Ji to young Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh after summoning him near. Guru ji also declared that "a section of Sikhs shall follow your path".

ਹਮ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਸਭ ਕੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਮਰਾ ਪੰਥ ਨਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ॥
We are known as Akali, protector of all, and my Panth is distinct from all.

ਦੀਨ ਮਜਬ ਕਾ ਜੁਧ ਜੋ ਕੀਨਾ ਖੰਡਾ ਫੜਿਆ ਦੁਧਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥
Holding our double edged Khandas in our hand we fought the battle to establish true religion.

ਛਈ ਮਈ ਮਾਰ ਸਭ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਲੋਤਰ ਫੜਿਆ ਕਰਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥
We have eliminated the shadow of Maya with our fierce Salotar Club held in our hands.

ਗਗਨ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੈ ਬੁੰਗਾ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਮਹਾਂਕਾਲ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥
The top dome of our turban reaches above and the one Greater Than Death protects us. 

ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਮੁਕਟ ਮੁਕਟ ਪਰ ਚੱਕਰ ਆਇਆ ਅਜਬ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥
Upon our head is a crown, around this crown is our Chakar quoit, it has lifted us into divine bliss!

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਤੁਧ ਆਗੇ ਸੀਸ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥
In front of you, Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh, we place our heads.

ਲੱਟ ਪੱਟ ਫਰਰੇ ਸਜ ਰਹੇ ਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦਨ ਕੀ ਭਈ ਝੰਕਾਰ ॥
May the Farlas Battle Standards on Turbans wore by Akali Nihungs, constantly wave freely, and the Word of the Guru ever resound.

ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਜਿਨ ਸਬ ਕੁਲ ਲੀਆ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
Spreading and propagating the teachings of the Master, Guru Gobind Singh, who saves one’s entire lineage.

ਸਿਰ ਮਸ੍ਤਕ ਰਖੵਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੰ ਹਸ੍ਤ ਕਾਯਾ ਰਖੵਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰਹ ॥ 
ਆਤਮ ਰਖੵਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਧਨ ਚਰਣ ਰਖੵਾ ਜਗਦੀਸ੍ਵਰਹ ॥
ਸਰਬ ਰਖੵਾ ਗੁਰ ਦਯਾਲਹ ਭੈ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸਨਹ ॥
ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਅਨਾਥ ਨਾਥੇ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਚੁਤਹ ॥੫੨॥

ਹਉ ਗੋਸਾਈ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨੜਾ ॥
I am a wrestler; I belong to the Lord of the World.

ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਉਚ ਦੁਮਾਲੜਾ ॥
I met with the Guru, and I have tied a tall, plumed turban.

ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ਛਿੰਝ ਇਕਠੀਆ ਦਯੁ ਬੈਠਾ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੧੭॥
All have gathered to watch the wrestling match, and the Merciful Lord Himself is seated to behold it.

ਵਾਤ ਵਜਨਿ ਟੰਮਕ ਭੇਰੀਆ ॥
The bugles play and the drums beat.

ਮਲ ਲਥੇ ਲੈਦੇ ਫੇਰੀਆ ॥
The wrestlers enter the arena and circle around.

ਨਿਹਤੇ ਪੰਜਿ ਜੁਆਨ ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਥਾਪੀ ਦਿਤੀ ਕੰਡਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੧੮॥
I have thrown the five challengers to the ground, and the Guru has patted me on the back.

ਸਭ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋਇ ਆਇਆ ॥
All have gathered together,

ਘਰਿ ਜਾਸਨਿ ਵਾਟ ਵਟਾਇਆ ॥
but we shall return home by different routes.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਚਲੇ ਮੂਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧੯॥
The Gurmukhs reap their profits and leave, while the self-willed manmukhs lose their investment and depart. 

ਤੂੰ ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥
You are without color or mark.

ਹਰਿ ਦਿਸਹਿ ਹਾਜਰੁ ਜਾਹਰਾ ॥
The Lord is seen to be manifest and present.

ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਤੁਝੈ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਰਤੇ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੦॥
Hearing of Your Glories again and again, Your devotees meditate on You; they are attuned to You, O Lord, Treasure of Excellence.

ਮੈ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਦਯੈ ਸੇਵੜੀ ॥
ਗੁਰਿ ਕਟੀ ਮਿਹਡੀ ਜੇਵੜੀ ॥
ਹਉ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਛਿੰਝ ਨ ਨਚਊ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਲਧਾ ਭਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨੧॥੨॥੨੯॥
