I'm excited to share this - It's an electronic world house tune that follows a story.

'Penumbra' means a space of partial illumination around a dense shadow (like an eclipse). In medical terms it is referred to as the area that surrounds a core of dead tissue following an ischaemic event like a stroke. Penumbra tissue is potentially destined to die too - but can be saved if it receives the right treatment quickly.

I chose 'Penumbra' for the name of this song and as a means to reflect on my own healing journey - which I'm sure is widely relatable. Shadow work can be terrifying and dark.. and at times, the worst outcome can feel inevitable. And sometimes.. it may be... 
And sometimes, when the shadow is held up to the light, we may find an area of vulnerability, of Penumbra. The partial light around or next to the dark. This area, when understood and held correctly, can heal - despite all expectation and likelihood that it wouldn't. And, if given what it needs at the right time, can survive and even learn to dance ✨

We're excited to share our mix from the After Igloofest event at Délice & Rhum in Old Port, Montreal, on February 1st.

This set was particularly special, as we wanted to highlight a different side of our project—blending progressive house and melodic house/techno, all while staying true to the Geast & K-Jole signature sound.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us that night and helped create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Ce set était particulièrement spécial, car nous voulions mettre en avant une autre facette de notre projet, en mêlant progressive house et melodic house/techno, tout en conservant la signature sonore Geast & K-Jole.

Made this track with some spare time during this cyclone and have inspired element in there that reflect on the traggic Esoteric cancelation. Got the first sample from this series called 'The kitchen'. He says this wonderful line saying that 'We cant stop we aslong as we dont look at we as I'. Really struck a chord with me and its true for wat the dog government is doing to our doof scene. They wont be able to stop we if we work together to stand for wats right. My Ecstatic Dance inspired set played at the Sunset Lounge on Easter Sunday 5-7pm. Starting with gentle tribal rhythms - as the sun went down the energy built up to an ecstatic peak over the two hour journey. Recorded live - it has a couple of imperfect moments but overall such a fun set that came together on-the-fly with loads of wonderful feedback - thank you for listening :)
